This is the perfect way to build Veigar, +1. DeathFire Grasp is absolutely a necessity. First 2 games I went: 11/1 and then 11/2. I don't see why this isn't the number 1 build on this site!. I've seen builds that get Rylai's and Lich Bane. Rylai's slow is useless, he bursts damage all at once against a stunned target, no need to slow. Also, on Veigar a Lich Bane is just stupid. He is a burst champion, Lich Bane passive is nothing compared to DFG active. DFG is the way to go, but need to remember to use it. Follow this guide and you'll be on your way to Veigar domination in no time.

1. I've always felt that Ghost and Teleport are the best options for Veigar for two reasons. One: Veigar can't move about the field effectively, and he makes a great assassin. Two: Flash is getting removed and doesn't really help accomplish what Teleport can.
2. One Greater Quint of Fortitude won't help you. At all. Go with another Greater Quint of Force, or of Potency (Potency helps early-to-mid-game).
3. Your skill order is wrong. You should max Baleful Strike as soon as you can. It makes getting kills just a little more exciting with 5 AP per kill, and makes it much more certain that you will last-hit a minion with it. I do appreciate that you hold off on maxing Event Horizon, though; maxing it early is a newb mistake.
4. Veigar doesn't need to get many, nor does he benefit an obscene amount from, neutral monster buffs; as such, the points in Utility Mastery are better placed in Awareness and Greed.
5. Matter of personal preference, I start with an Amplifying Tome instead of Meki Pendant. It builds directly into Kage's Lucky Pick, which you should also get early-game for the gold-gain.
6. Tear of the Goddess/Archangel's Staff is EXTREMELY beneficial to playing Veigar well. The extra mana and AP are very good, and the fact that Veigar has a skill shot (Dark Matter) makes it very easy to rack up the bonus Mana. Should ABSOLUTELY be in the official build.
7. Haunting Guise is insufficient in terms of Magic Penetration as late as you have it. If you start with an Amplifying Tome, it's more viable as you can purchase it sooner, but I still would label it as "too little too late."
8. Rylai's is not just for chases; it's a great escape mechanism. Just pull off a Baleful Strike or target a Dark Matter at yourself, and they'll be slowed. Yes, I agree it isn't the best of options, but you give it far too little credit.
That all said, this is NOT a bad build, it just doesn't work. 8 bads to 6 goods, I gotta vote down.

First of all I searched you up and you are level 16. This post is pretty know-it-all'ish for a level 16.. I sure hope that is a smurf.

Secondly: Please try out the build before voting/commenting and please leave a comment if you have any questions/criticisms of the build. Thanks and enjoy!

Okay... This is basically heavily opinionated. I'm assuming you haven't even tried the build (which I asked that you do), however since you did provide feedback this definitely is not a trollvote. Thanks for the feedback, seems in Tl;dr you just don't agree.

1. Summoner spells are pure opinion, I've stated my reasons in the build, but I see veigar in no way any kind of map control specialist or assassin. Guess that's playstyle. If you go mid teleport is a pretty good pick. But I prefer the two I use. And no, flash is not going to be removed. Flash has been "getting removed" for 6 months now. It hasn't happened and there is no reason to gimp your playstyle just because you think a spell may be removed. I'll believe it when I see it.

2. Runes are purely based on opinion and playstyle. For me, I feel my rune setup fits me just right and the extra health will give me all that I need for earlygame.

3. I completely disagree. I'll have fun having a huge burst W at level 10 while yours is at level 2. After level 3 Baleful becomes incredibly easy to hit. Please, try this skilling order... It's amazing.

4. This build (which again, by this comment I am assuming you haven't tried) does not build heavy on mana regen and thus golem is very important to have. Greed generates 180 gold in 30 minutes. That's about 6 minion kills. I'll pass.

5. If you are willing to have no mana sure. I buy Kage as my second item. The gold gain really isn't anything special so I see no reason to rush it and have early mana troubles.

6. Yes, Archangel's is a good item. I've done alot of testing and it just doesn't feel like the lategame benefits are worth the poor early/mid game. If you want to grab it go ahead. I sometimes grab it as my 6th item, however I am never going to be rushing a tear.

7. I get Haunting Guise in early/mid game as my third item after Kage and Boots. That's not late at all. The health also gives him some much needed survivability. Magic pen never arrives "too late"...?

8. Want an escape mechanism? You have 3 options. Stun, ghost, flash. All of which have a greater range than his Q, and all of which have virtually no delay to cast (unlike his Q).

Sorry man, I appreciate the feedback however I am sure you have not tried the build. These comments were very nitpicky and some of the things you said were just plain noobish. Until you get more expirience with the game and actually play with the build I can't take your comment too seriously.

Thanks to Xiaowiriamu for the sig!

This guide is seriously just my playstyle, though depending on the opposing team you have to adjust the items(just like you say). This guide really helped me out, One-shotting noob Karthuses has never been easier.
Great guide +1
