Very, very nice written build, a lot of details about Veigar, combined with a lot of humour! It's true that you're gonna get a lot of the same items on Veigar a lot (especially ones like Void Staff or Zhonya's Hourglass), but the ability to know when you need something else is so important that I'd prefer variety to a strict path, even if that strict path is effective most of the time. AP carries can build situational items while still building heavy AP, and should build AP with whatever resistances are more important, rather than just "ZOMG, 1000 AP, LOOOOL".
