Introduction

Hello and welcome to my Vel'koz Jungle Guide: Vel'Koz, Eye of the Jungle. This is my first guide and I hope that it can inspire some people to play Vel'Koz in the jungle!

From release, I thought Vel'koz would be a jungler, and the first game I played with him I tried him jungle, and it was a success. Bit of trial and error with the runes and masteries, but now I have found something I am comfortable with.

Pros / Cons

Pros
Amazing clear time mid to late game
Will not get hit by camps mid to late game
Great ganking potential
Good damage
Fun to play

Cons
Not the best clear time at the start
Will take quite a bit of damage and you will need to buy health pots a lot
You have to get the combos right

Creeping / Jungling

When in the jungle, whilst clearing you will want to position yourself correctly, where you can hit all the minions with your Q (Plasma Fission). E.G for Wolf camp, behind the big wolf, for buffs, in front of the buff.

Open with W (Void Rift), then Q (Plasma Fission), then E (Tectonic Disruption), then W (Void Rift) again. If you stand at a reasonable distance and cast it in this sequence correctly, then the camp won't even touch you as they will have been knocked back by Tectonic Disruption.

This is where the passive, Organic Deconstruction, really shines, as it will deal true damage every three times you hit the target with your spells (And W counts as two!)

Ganking

When ganking, open with Q (Plasma Fission) to get a slow up on the target, and follow with E (Tectonic Disruption) to knock them back. Place your E just infront of the target if they're running towards their turret so it will stall them. As soon as you've cast your Tectonic Disruption, place down a W (Void Rift) so they will get hit. You want to make sure that you land at least 3 hit with your abilities (And W counts as two) to ensure that you will get your passive, Organic Deconstruction, to apply the true damage.

Items

Start by buying a Hunter's Machete, 5 Health Potions and a ward of your choice. You should be able to farm / gank and not go back until you can buy Boots of Mobility and an Amplifying Tome, plus a few Health Potions. Third back, get your Spirit of the Spectral Wraith and some more potions if you need to. Now you want to start building your Rabadon's Deathcap. Once finished with that, get Rylai's Crystal Sceptre, Void Staff and finally an item that you think will benefit you, I personally get either Deathfire Grasp (As you can pull off insane damage with the combo), or Liandry's Torment.
