Hi everyone, I'm prog3712!!
I have been practicing a lot with Vi (one the best champions that LoL have released) and i have come to this conclusion: this build that breaks some of the normal builds always see for this champion. Especially because this build does not have Black Cleaver.
I have got many kills with this build, and is so strong in mid and late game, than i love it.
This build is made to cause great harm with W, slow enemies movements, use your skills the most possible and survive many battles to be a good offtank.
I hope you enjoy this guide, and if you have any feedback, please leave your comments below.
Pros / Cons
- Ult CC can't be interrupted by anything
- High basic damage

- E attack damage all behind the beaten enemy, allowing damage any champion without be so close
- Ultimate travel until enemy position, so you can be counter in the final position of the enemy champ
- Q can be interrupted
- Don't have a long range attack, but ult
- Weak at the beginning of the game
Greater Mark of Attack Damage
Greater Seal of Armor
Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage
This runes set is the normal set for a bruiser like Vi, or for any other top AD champ. This is really effective, especially at starting phase.
Our champ get attack damage and defense against AD and AP attacks.
This build have some phases:
Elixir of Fortitude
Elixir of Brilliance
This would be the normal start to fight against a champion who is AD:
|Cloth Armor||Health Potion x 4||Mana Potion x 1|
When facing an AP champion, I recommend starting with the following items.
|Null-Magic Mantle||Health Potion x 2|
This start will give you enough strength to get gold and to get more powerful items.
Here's what a good strategy is to build both movement speed and attack, and that is why getting the Ninja Tabi will be the best option. Then Doran's Blade will give you a little more strenght, and end with Zephyr in this phase will be excellent as it will give you great mobility, even for ganks in the mid lane, and attack speed enough to cram several times with the W, causing great damage on any opponent.
The following will be building health and life steal with Vampiric Scepter and Warmog's Armor. When you finish this step, you will have a high survival in battle, and it will have great damage.
Then you have to build items that give you the power of an offtank. Iceborn Gauntlet and Mercurial Scimitar. I love these two items, as they provide great protection against both types of attacks and also give you the strength to fight in mid and late game. In addition, the gauntlet will give you the slowing effect to your opponent does not use many skills and you can do easier persecutions.
To finish your build, get The Bloodthirster and all elixirs. With this you will be really powerful and tank, enough to defeat any champion.
are the best combination of damage and protection.
Similarly, there are other spells that may be useful, depending on the enemy team or your play style. Others spells that you can use are:
|You can use this spell to help to your team to caught any champ. In combination with Q , Flash and your ult you can get any champ in range of 300.|
|Is really usefull to catch champs or evade enemies skills.|
|A nice spell to help other teammates, reach some enemy champs or keep the CS score growin up without loose any time.|
Learning Excessive Force (E) is essential at level one because it helps us to get control over the enemy champ and minions at same time.
Make sure each time you use the E key is always on a minion in the middle of you and your enemy. So, you will accomplish harm minions and champions while giving you advantage over your opponent life.
Then, I like learning Vault Breaker (Q) , because then you will have another attack against your enemy, or escape in case of an ambush.
Denting Blows (W) would be the next, to get the amazing passive that bring us. If you are in the lane with another bruiser, I suggest to increase this ability as soon as possible.
The Ultimate, Assault and Battery (R) , must be increased in every chance, like any champion. Be sure to use this ability away from turrets or do it if you have the advantage in damage and/or health.
The first thing to remember is never pressure your lane unnecessarily. Farm enough to win gold and press when you're sure you will not be ganked. Remember to use the E to do much damage to your opponent, hitting the minions that are between you and your enemy. To start the game, with three of these indirect blows to your opponent might have in midlife and using potions he has, if he bought potions, but you will have an advantage that you should use to farm enough , because it is possible that the champion opponent go below their tower. But if he does not, you can attack him with all your arsenal, getting an easy first kill.
If you have to lane against 2 champs, try to use E to damage minions and enemies at the same time, but stay close from your tower, and try to not let your tower leave you without CS.
In mid game, will be very important to your team to get some successful ganks. Using your Q to catch enemies and finish them with your ult. The order depends the battle situation.
Try to keep farming in some lanes and jungle, and you can go after dragon. Vi can defeat the dragon really fast, due to denting blows .
In late game, try to stay in group and get some solo kills.
You can initiate group battles and finish it too. Only initiate when you find someone in bad position. Always go after the weakest champs.
If they initiate, get the ADC or weakest enemy champ with your ult and ignite spell. When you have finished him off, go against the enemy bruiser. Try do this focusing your enemies in group, and using the abilities according the skills of them.
In both situations, if you have another tank partner, you can do this strategy: get into fight, get a kill and then go out of there. Then, inmediately get into fight again and go after the champ with lower health. Why do this? because, you can disorient the enemies who attacking you and the other tank from your team can cover you that few seconds. Remember, never go to far, or so much time, because you could let die to your team and you are a tank, too. The main idea is you can get into fight again with Q to knocking back all enemies in your way and let act to your teammates too.
Vi is excellent for farming, especially after Level 3. You can use the combo Q -> E , hitting all possible minions with Q , thus aligning them and then hitting the nearest with E , even if you need it, the twice allowing by this ability.
Remember, always monitor the health of the minions to get the best CS score, hitting them at last punch.
Remember the passive of this champ
If you can prevent that Vi will be hit by an enemy skill, try to hit a enemy minion, neutral monster or the same enemy champion in order to get a shield that will help you to keep your life any longer.
Vi is an excellent melee fighter, and can easily go against other bruisers. Also, we can use to fight enemies with ranged attacks without suffering much damage, on the contrary, they are who really suffer with this versatile and powerful champion. And like any other champion, you will need a lot of training and experience to suit your playing style, and you'll find that this bruiser is excellent for the kills for their team to win and besides, it is excellent to mock his enemies.
