Introduction

Vi is known for causing stress to enemy players as she can easily cc you while you desperately try to run away. With her low cool-downs on her Q to her massive burst damage from your E she is a force to reckon with. Vi has a few combinations you can use; Q-E-R-Q-E : R-E-Q-E-Q : Q-E-E-R-Q. Each one used in different situations, but each have similar results...death. This guide will explain the pros and cons to going Devourer and not Warrior/Cinderhulk.

Runes

When it comes to the runes you can do practically whatever you feel is necessary. You don't have to go with my runes but I personally like it b/c of my play style. With Sated it deals extra magic damage and I am aware the armor pen. really doesn't work with it even though Vi's W does. So, if you wanted to trade in the straight Armor pen. you could go x3 Quint of Hybrid Penetration (+1.79 Armor Pen., & +1.41 Magic Pen.) This way it stacks with both W and Sated. If you want to focus more of the farming and tanky aspect you could go x3 Quint of Armor (+4.26 Armor). This will allow you to take less damage when in jungle on top of the fast clear time. It could even allow you to gank some and still be fine.

Items

Vi has many options when it comes to items. She has the power to go full ad and the cc to go tanky. If you put them together she is an unstoppable powerhouse. There are a list of options based on the enemy team that you can try. Each I have used and each has worked. The options are ultimately unlimited with her. No matter if you decided to use Cleaver and Ravenous or Botrk and Titanic both will shred the opponents health and help dominate the game.

Skill Sequence

When going Devourer on Vi you want to max our W first. This is her source of power. The More damage Vi can dish out the quicker the clear time. E will be the next thing you max. This allows for her do have burst (splash damage) which you want to use on the 3rd stack on W to maximize damage of E. Q will be last because quite honestly when going Devourer you wont be ganking all that much to get sated as fast as possible. You will be more focused on dragon and stacks on Dev. So Q will be used the least. 3 reasons you will use Q when farming for Sated is to knock up the monsters in the camps, to get in and out of drag pit, and if necessary to use as an escape for counter jungle. By maxing W first you are able to give your Mid-Laner every Blue after the first one if the the champion requires it.

Spells

Spells are unique. Each do something different and have a different purpose. With Vi you typically want to go Flash and Smite. The flash Q combo is nice to have. But other options depending on the other team and their comp you can also go: Ignite/Smite Barrier/Smite Exhaust/Smite. Ignite could be used for that 1v1 match up that comes to be close. Barrier could be if you want to solo dragon at lvl 4 or even 3 and you run out of health pots or if an enemy champ ults you such as zed. Exhaust could be used during ganks or Baron/Dragon fights and you want to exhaust the most fed.

Creeping / Jungling

When you start the game make sure to jungle the Red jungle side first. Always start Krugs first and make sure to save smite on that first camp. You will use it on Red buff. After this you can either take Scuttle or get Birds then Scuttle your choice. Either way make sure you take Scuttle b/c this will help rejuvenate your health just a little before entering the Blue jungle side. Another option you have is start Red buff then get Blue buff directly after followed by Scuttle and take each camp starting with Gromp till you hit Krugs. If you farm correctly and try to not gank, (unless you are certain a kill can come out of it) you should have 1,850 gold at 8 mins without having to back a single time. Once you get Devourer you should get a few health pots and head over to dragon to take it around 9 mins. Go back to jungling and around 15 minutes you should have anywhere from 13-16 stacks on Devourer. Dragon will appear shortly after the 15 minute mark and you should be able to get dragon which now will make you Sated or 2-3 Camps off. Going Devourer on Vi makes her useless prior to 18 mins. I say 18 minutes b/c if you do it right you can be Sated anywhere from 15:30-18:20. As vi if you try to gank and fail more then likely you wont get Devourer until 10+ minutes essentially making you miss 1 or 2 dragons and Sated before 20 mins. Nobody likes a jungler who isn't Sated before 20 minutes.

Farming

When split pushing E is your friend. It will deal massive damage to the group of minions infront of you and help push the lane as fast as you can. When you get to the turret use e on them to deal massive blows of damage to take it out. When going Cinderhulk Sunfire Cape will be your best friend since you wont have the faster clear time. When going Warrior try going Ravenous Hydra to help clear jungle camps and push lanes faster.
