Threats to Vladimir with this build
|Lee Sin||lee sin is a bitch|
|Nasus||harass the shit out of him. don't even cs, it's more important that he loses it than you get it. use e + autos to get what little farm you can while using q to harass|
harass with q, autos, and e. Pool when you're about to die, or when the enemy jungler ganks and you're out of position. farm with e and q, call MIAs, try to assist your jungler whenever they need it. If you take teleport, use it when you're being harassed out of lane or if you have enough gold to buy an item that gives you a substantial power curve, like hextech revolver or cowl.
Trades with your lane opponent are usually successful, even if you take 40% and they take 20-30%, because your sustain is your most powerful tool. trades like this will eventually push them out of lane, and if they took ignite over teleport, then they can kiss their precious farm goodbye.
your q is your blood and butter for harassing. it hurts them, heals you, costs nothing, and it's your longest range basic ability, so it's going to be your strongest tool.
your e is also quite good, and it has a gimmick: it increases your healing and health regen when you use it, and that effect can stack up to 4 times. When you're drastically winning lane, build a hextech revolver first and then spam your e until you hit 4 stacks. Then, keep an eye on the buff timer above your ability bar and use e whenever it's about to run out, usually for quick waveclear or light harass.
your e + q+ auto combo can hurt squishy champions a lot, and if your opponent is low enough, combining it with your ult + ignite is deceptively lethal.
always prioritize farming minions over harass. if a minion is about to die, but your q is up and the enemy is within range, always q the minion. for vlad, this is much better than harass, because your q costs nothing, heals you, and has a very short cooldown at rank 5.
Farm mini golems as much as possible, and see if you can get any opportunities to steal the enemy blue. be careful of getting collapsed on: if your mid and jungler won't help, you're basically giving away a kill and you look like an idiot.
Teamfights and Roaming: I Am A Spooky Vampire
In teamfights your goal is simple: ult as many people as possible, e as many people as possible, slow as many people as possible in your pool, after q-ing the squishiest champ on their team, ignite the adc, then use zhonyas when you get out of pool. After that, your e and q should save you from whatever ****ty situation you've got yourself into, and your team + ult damage should do the rest. remember: a flash ult is sometimes a good idea, and is usually the only good play a vlad can make, unless your team is trash.
roaming on vlad is 90% of the time a terrible terrible idea. if you're not farming or getting a kill, you're wasting time. jungle camps are far more reliable to kill than a slippery katarina, especially when your ******** mid teemo has absolutely no lockdown. If you have a malzahar or syndra mid, or a warwick jungle, however, roaming can be productive, especially if their jungler is bot lane and their top just recalled. that long suppression/stun plus the kill security from ignite + ult damage can push you further into the lategame, where vlad excels. However, if you have a talon, or ziggs, or any other meta mid, you're going to q the mid, they're going to blink away, and your tower is going to take a lot of damage, eat a lot of farm, and probably get destroyed. Your lane pressure is already very unreliable; don't weaken it further.
Why can't I make plays?
Vladimir is all about passive play. Sustain, trade, sustain, farm, sustain, etc. your goal is to survive and farm. If there is a kill right in front of you, go ahead and take it, but otherwise you need to just sit back and let the game win itself, while spamming your joke under tower. Your ult and e are enough to help your team win fights: try to maintain map awareness for the whole team if you're bored while farming. ward smart, ping smart, inform your team, keep timers, etc.
