Not Updated For Current Season
I've played against all types of vlad builds and this one always wins. You prefer to have mid because with getting two stack items you want ganks as soon as you can get them, but side lanes still isn't bad.
Just going down to Archaic Knowledge for the magic penetration, but then I go down defense because I just don't see as much benefit from utility with having no mana pool. Veteran's scars and Ardor are great bonuses for vlad and the 4% reduc on damage ends nicely since you will be focused in team fights.
This is pretty standard just max transfusion as soon as you can and pick senguine first then alterante to keep rest of the skills balanced. I might have messed up on the skill order in the thing, but you get the idea.
All ap per level except marks for magic pen. The reason for ap per level rather than straight is because by level 9 when transfusion's cd is low enough per level runes almost ebcome better than straight.
Tome first with Hp pot for early staying power. Then buy mejai's to start getting stacks or you can go for magic pen boots first. Then leviathan so now everytime you get a kill thats 4 stacks that give even greater bonuses with vlad's passive. Next is rylai's for getting those clutch kills. Zhonya's is next because you already will have plenty of ap and more won't hurt and the active isn't bad with being focused. 6th item is really personal or game perference abyssal scepter is always good so is deathfire or lich bane.
Ill add more info on how to play if people want.
