Summary of Build

This is my first build on here, so be gentle. I have been playing Volibear since he came out and so far I love him. He can toss like Singed, yet they don't have to be stupid and follow you for them to die, which I love. This build is designed to capitalize on what Volibear already has going for him. You've got Shurelya's Reverie to help you chase them down, which when used with your Q and, God help them, Ghost no one can get away. Then you've got Frozen Mallet so they really CANT get away, plus a load of health. Randuin's Omen gives you another slow, also to their attack speed. Ionic Spark works perfectly with your ultimate, not to mention the health and attack speed to get your W going. Lastly you've got Kitae's Bloodrazer for the extra attack speed, what you're all about, and damage. Oh, and your Ionian Boots of Lucidity, now these I only get when I am bottom. The cooldown reduction is great, and needed, but if you are top or roaming then I would really recommend the Boots of Swiftness or Boots of Mobility, just because it is Dominion and movement matters.

Runes and Why?

My rune selection serves two purposes. To make me more powerful in the very early game, with the attack speed and flat health. In addition to helping my late game, with the health per level seals and cooldown per level glyphs.

I went with Greater Marks of Alacrity, attack speed, because this activates your W faster. This is extremely important early game and mid game before you get Ionic Spark.

Greater Seal of Vitality because this helps you a lot late game. The way Volibear's W works is that it hits harder depending on your health, and the health they are missing. More health for you = harder hitting.

Greater Glyph of Celerity, cooldown per level, I use these because you really need CDR on Volibear considering how bound to abilities he is. In addition, he doesn't get natural ability cooldown reduction like most champions.

Lastly, Great Quintessence of Fortitude. I went with flat health quints because I wanted a very powerful early game. With this starting build you end up with over 1300 health off the start and can crush nearly any champion bottom lane on your first push. I tend to blow ignite, and ghost if necessary, to insure this early kill. Indeed you need to try and do this as it will greatly help your top to succeed if they have to send a man down to cover.

Skill Sequence

My skill choices are pretty standard, I think. I start out with one each all three, QWE, and max W first, as it is your bread and butter. After W hits 5, I alternate between E and Q, in that order, taking R every time it is available.

Summoner Spells

I went with Ignite and Ghost, over say Surge or Exhaust in place of Ignite, because I have found that with this build I can already slow them plenty and I don't find I get as much of that clutch dps out of Surge that I get with Ignite (early game). My choice of Ignite is to secure that early kill and set the game up with your team 3v2 with bottom lane being pushed constantly. As this is your goal.
