Though the northern reaches of Freljord are some of the most unforgiving lands in Valoran, the Ursine have survived upon the region's barren, stormy tundra for centuries. As a fierce and respected warrior of the Ursine, Volibear devoted his life to the protection of his people and loyalty to his elder brother, the tribe's chief. When his brother was killed during a hunt on the tundra, the tribe looked to Volibear as his successor. It was an honor and a burden that Volibear had never expected, but he shouldered the charge with pride. However, by Ursine tradition, the tribe could not recognize Volibear as chief until he returned from a journey to the peak of their sacred mountain, a place forever shrouded in a thundering maelstrom. There, Ursine chieftains must speak to the storm itself, gaining clarity and wisdom to empower them as mighty leaders.

Donning the chieftain's traditional armor and enchanted gauntlets, Volibear began the long and perilous climb up the slopes of the mountain. When he reached the peak and gazed into the raging storm above, he saw a horrific vision of a Freljord utterly consumed by war. Amidst the carnage, the Ursine fell dead upon a bloody battlefield. Believing the vision to be an omen of things to come if he did not act against them, Volibear traveled to the capitol of Freljord. The Ursine had not ventured across the southern mountains in centuries and his appearance was met with unease. However, Queen Ashe recognized Volibear as a wise and powerful ally. In what Volibear considered the first step against a war-torn future, they forged an alliance. As part of their agreement, he joined the League of Legends in the name of a unified Freljord, representing the primal might of his nation on the Field of Justice.

Hello and welcome to my Volibear build. I started playing Volibear months ago as he was free to play. I recently made a decision that i was gonna buy him as soon as possible. So i earned 6300 IP and bought him. As i played games, i understood that he was not only solo top, but also jungle and support. So i tried some jungle games with him. As i went high stats, got overfed and all that other good stuffs we won the game. I played more games and i managed to win four games in a row with carrying.

I dont use my normal set of runes at Volibear. I usally go armor pen red, armor yellows, mr blues and flat ad quints. On Volibear i use a different set of runes.
I use ad reds, armor yellows, mr quints and as quints.

I max Frenzy first to deal tons of damage. Then i max Sky Splitter to deal insane damage to minion just for the farm. Thundering Smash is no reason to max first because it only enchants basic attacks to deal more damage and throw them back.

21-9 masteries because i think they fitted best with Volibear and i did it best with these masteries.

Volibear is a GREAT farmer because of his Sky Splitter and hes AA's. He can pretty much walk into any minion wave and click E ( Sky Splitter and he has allmost killed it.

Volibear is one of my favorite team fighters, his ultimate can hit the entire enemy team with Stormbringer and if you for example invading with a Volibear you can pretty much secure a kill with his Thundering Smash. Start up with rolling thunder to secure kills on lanes if your not solo top. If you are starting at solo top and not invading or caring you have to start with your Sky Splitter or Frenzy .

Allways ask for solo top or jungle if you wanna play Volibear. Volibear needs farm and if he dont get farm he'll suck later in game. Practise your last hitting skill before you go into a ranked lobby with Volibear as he has slow AA's but insanely high damage.

Pro's:
+Great catchups.
+Great getaways.
+Nice damage.
+Great farm.
+Pretty much AOE.
+Great passive.
+Top and Jungle.
+Hes a bear, that looks insane!


-Easily dominated by range and CC.
-Bursted down easily.
-Kindof easy to counter.

Volibear has great getaway skills with Ghost and Thundering Smash.
Volibear's passive: The Relentless Storm is easy to counter but its just insane anyways.
If you have like 3500 health points, and then chosen of the storm activatesyou will regen sooo much.

When it comes to farming is insane. His Sky Splitter can outfarm allmost every champion at top lane.

Deny Volibear to farm for f*** sake! Overfarmed Volibear is almost as scary as a overfed Volibear. If you want to win a lane at top Versus Volibear: Outfarm him, kill him, deny him to poke.

counters: Unable to dodge spear, Just jumps away when he uses Thundering Smash

Later in game he will most likely blind him when he uses his ultimate.
and The only way to not get counter these guys are just to stack loads of Magic Resist.
