Volibear Jungle Guide
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Say hello to my little friend
Greetings summoners, today I'd like to show u how to jungle as Volibear, possibly the most
op tankjungler on the fields of justice !
I will do my best to explain as good as I can how to utilise this beast to the fullest!
OK let's begin!
For runes I emphasise on : - Jungle clearing speed
- Ganking potential by way of speed
Therefor I use following RUNES : - 7 X Greater Seal of Armor
- 2 X Greater Seal of Attack Speed
- 6 X Greater Glyph of Magic Resist
- 3 X Greater Glyph of Attack Speed
- 9 X Greater Mark of Attack Speed
- 3 X Greater Quintessence of Movement Speed
Why would I get 3 Movespeed Quints and no let's say Health, AD or AP ones for example?
Quite simple, volibear is a tank and since he's jungeling u want to have an easy time ganking.
Another reason for this is simply because after your Health Pots and Hunter's Machete
u can save up to buy a Giant's Belt straight away before having to get boots, making u that
much more effective. Will that be enough? Thx to Volibear's unique kit yes it will.
I will explain to u later in this guide how this will work.
Items Quick Review
Early sturdiness helps u towerdive earlier if you have one of those autoattack stupid push teams
make sure u have your passive ready in case u miscalculate a gank though
Warmogs Armor& Spirit Visage : two MUSTHAVES for volibear they synchronise well
together too. and Spirit Visage increases Volibear's passive Chosen of the Storm
I like to get hybrid items with both HP and some kind of resist, not only to strengthen Volibear's Frenzy but also to strengthen Warmog's Armor's HP REGEN passive which
scales off of HP.
The active on Randuin's Omen helps in teamfights and as an extra AOE slow in case Thundering Roar isn't enough
It's important your team gives u a smiteless blue when u use your E properly u should need
minimum potions giving u more gold early game thanks to prolongued initial jungle activity
You get blue, do wolves, go straight to red and Smite it, at this point u are lvl3 and
rdy to gank wherever.
Smite a musthave for every jungler, faster clearspeeds, possible dragon or nashor steals ;)
Ghost suprisingly fast gapcloser in combination with Rolling Thunder
Rolling Thunder on cooldown? ghost can help u get close enough to use
Thundering Roar slowing them long enough for it to come off cooldown
Talk to your team in advance, make them understand how to synchronise with your playstyle as such :
1) They should know to give u a smiteless blue so u can gank at lvl3 rlly quickly
2) They should lasthit the ENTIRE LANEPHASE so u can gank like a boss
3) People with Crowdcontrol such as snares, stuns, slows and so on should have it off cooldown as u
move in for the gank, making it either easier for you to land Rolling Thunder or to prolongue
the crowdcontrol on the target after Thundering Roar has worn off, maybe giving u enough time
to pop another Rolling Thunder or Thundering Roar
4) Make sure before u go to gank if that lane is warded or not and where that ward is located
Is the river in botlane warded? let your team push to slightly further then halfway their lane so
that u can sneak in the first bush past your tower unnoticed, then have them let the enemy push
so u can gank.
5) NEVER try anything even semi-risky while your passive is off cooldown
Pros / Cons
Pros : - Extremely tanky
- OP ganking abilities
- Can escape seemingly impossibel situations thx to his passive
Cons : - Can make u feel overconfident so u do stupid things resulting in a feed
Creeping / Jungling
Start at BLUE, do WOLVES, get RED, GANK, do WRAITHS, do WOLVES, GANK, gank wherever and whenever
u can, no opportunities? go farm in the jungle or lasthit in lanes where your teammate has went
back. do NOT push it, unless u have a 100% chance to take down that turret.
when failganking, grab a minion or 3-4 so it makes up for the lost time
Cöordinate well with your teammates, let them know when and where u will strike and make sure
they have their Crowdcontrol abilities up.
If a gank was succesfull u might even help to take down that tower real quick , giving your team
