Who is Voosha
Hello I am Voosha. I was in one of the top 10 3v3 challenger teams. We play 3vs3 religiously and are very familiar with every aspect there is to it. |
Most Annie's seen in Summoner's Rift are played as support, although some do still play her mid. She provides massive burst damage and a stun on every 4th spell. On Twisted Treeline she is always played as an AP champion, specifically compositions that are made to burst down a target. Her stun helps her single out a target for the rest of her team to focus that champion. She is extremely deadly, but also extremely squishy.
Champions that have good synergy with Annie are those that can burst down a single target. Even though Annie herself can nearly take down most hero's with a Blackfire Torch + all her spells combo, not all situations will be perfect where you can do this. In most cast though, Annie will at least get a stun off.
Jarvan can ult a single target, but hopefully multiple targets, which will make it alot easier for Annie to land her ult. They will essentially be in a pit of doom. If annie is unable to burst someone down, they will at least be very low or low enough for Darius to finish them off.
Annie can save her AOE stun from her ult if they jump onto vayne, in most cases many champions will focus the vayne over the annie. This isn't really a protect the vayne comp, but rather bait out vayne so you can land a good ult onto the enemy team.

Summoner Spells
Only take exhaust if the enemies have large amounts of burst or have a large amount of dps (vayne, Quinn, ezreal). Ignite is really strong as it grants lots of early damage in trades and can be a great finisher after a combo because of the amount of true damage it does. Flash is essential for Annie because you sometimes will need to Flash in in order to get your combo off. This will give you an element of surprise so they won't necessarily know when you will be engaging.
Masteries
I take Spell Weaving over Double-Edged Sword because you should be landing auto attacks within your fights anyways, so it'll provide even more damage that the sword mastery and you won't take the extra damage. It only takes 2 auto attacks for it to be more worth it. Annie needs as much damage as she can get since she is considered a burst champion. Going offensive is really the only option.
Runes
Precision
Fleet Footwork
Phase Rush
I like taking magic penetration since her abilities early on have a decently high base damage. Her scaling is not too bad either so you can switch out the magic pen blues for flat AP if that is your preference.
Abilities
There is really only one ability sequence for annie. Never level the shield up over the other abilities for obvious damage reasons. I do get one level in it and that will be explained later on in the guide.

Blackfire Torch increase annie's burst and killing potential by so much, this is a must get item first. With the blackfire torch active placed on a squishy target, you can almost burst them down with just a Q and W, depending on how farmed you are relative to them. If it does not kill, it will get them down low enough for anyone on your team to finish. The Wooglet's provides security and confidence when you do your combo. You will typically Flash in, with a stun ready or nearly ready, drop the Tibber's on them and use Q and W. By flashing in, you're in the middle of their team and they can easily turn on you. Activating Wooglet's right after the combo, if they focus you, will allow your teammates to catch up and assist you.
Other Offensive options:
Void Staff is a good offensive option later on when everyone has more magic resist. Your stun will also proc the bonus damage from Linadry's.
In this section I will be teaching you a trick with annie utilizing her passive stun. So after the 4th spell, annies next spell cast will be a stun. This technique will start working once you have the Molten Shield spell. When annie has a stun ready, there will be a swirly vortex animation around her body. Every player knows this animation and when they see it, play more passively for the fear of the stun.
We can conceal the fact that you want to stun them by not showing it. Have your passive stacked up to 3 charges so that your stun will not be showing. When you want to combo, you can shoot a Disintegrate at them and before it hits you activate your Molten Shield. This will trigger your next spell to stun, but since your fireball is already mid air, that counts as the next spell. So you will trick your opponent into think that you don't have your stun up when in fact you actually do.
This technique does not work with Tibbers since Tibbers is basically instant. You can however using your molten shield right before you Tibbers as your 4th spell to get the stun. Activate the shield right before you're about to engage.

Refer to my Voosha's general 3v3 guide for some strategic suggestions.
Early Game
Use the technique I explained in the section above early game to harass them. Get lane control as soon as possible and communicate with your teammates for early game strats whether it's contesting their altars early on or ganking top. You do a decent amount of damage early on, but really you're just a stun machine for your teammates before level 6.
Mid Game
This is where Annie really shines. You should have a Blackfire Torch by this time which will make your combo really scary. You should be able to 100% to 0 any carries they have on their team with a full combo. Even if they build magic resist, you should be able to get them around 30% with a full combo. As I stated in the champion compositions, burst champions are very good with annie. So even if you can only get a person to 30%, having a Darius or Garen to finish them off is very intimidating to the other team.
Defensive
Annie is also very good at playing defense. She can stun most of them, if not all of them under the tower. The AOE damage summoning Tibbers and the Tibbers itself its tremendous. Diving an Annie is never a smart idea unless they have a large lead.
