Hi, It's me again. Here my guide about how i play Urgot, the one who walk like a crab, talk like people, Crabgot.
Pros and con
Good 1 vs 1
Hard to grasp
Not the biggest DPS(His range had to come at the cost of something, right?)
Zaun-Touched Bolt Augmenter
Urgot's attacks reduce the damage that his target deals by 15% for 2.5 seconds.
Extremely good passive; WIth the insane range on His Acid-hunter, you can just prevent the enemy carry from nuking all of your friends.
(Active): Urgot fires a missile towards the cursor dealing physical damage. Missile-lock can be achieved by holding the cursor over target afflicted by Noxian Corrosive Charge.
* Cost: 40 mana
* Cooldown: 2 sec
Physical Damage: 40 / 60 / 90 / 120 / 150 (+70% of damage)
Main Damage ability. Hit with his Noxian corrosive charge, then spam this baby up their butt, cause you have heat-seaking tech with the two combined.
Use it to last-hit minions, extremely cost-effective.
(Active): Urgot charges up his terror capacitor to gain a shield that absorbs damage for 7 seconds. While the shield is active, Urgot's attacks and missiles slow targets.
Cost: 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 / 75 mana.
Cooldown: 16 / 15 / 14 / 13 / 12 seconds
Shield absorbtion: 80 / 120 / 160 / 200 / 240 (+0.8 per Ability Power)
Slow: 20 / 25 / 30 / 35 / 40 %
Good usage of this skill will make the difference between a noob Urgot, and an awesome Crabgot. Use it after noxian charge, before acid hunter, and you will slow your enemy, plus, it makes you able to take a few hits , makes kitting incredibly fun.
Noxian Corrosive Charge
(Active): Urgot launches a corrosive charge at a target location. Enemies afflicted by the charge have reduced armor and take magical damage over 5 seconds.
Acid Hunter is able to missile-lock onto target affected by Noxian Corrosive Charge.
Cost: 50 / 55 / 60 / 65 / 70 mana.
Magical Damage: 100 / 155 / 210 / 265 / 320 (+0.8 per Ability Power)
Armor Reduction: 10 / 15 / 20 / 25 / 30
Hit the enemy(together with the minion wave if possible, for improved farming), then use shield, and then acid hunter, you've got a uber-range slowing-nuking device.
The Damage over time should not be under-estimated, it is an incredibly good farming spell, hit your enemy with the minion waves with it.
Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser
(Active): Urgot charges up his Hyper-Kinetic Position Reverser, gaining armor and magic resistance for 5 seconds. The target is stunned for 1 second before swapping position with Urgot. After the swap, the target is slowed by 40% for 3 seconds.
* Cooldown: 120 seconds
* Cost: 120 mana
Swap Range: 700 / 775 / 850
Armor and Magic Resistance: 80 / 105 / 130
Use this in the right condition, i will explain further down. This doesnt make Urgot a tank, it makes him a chaser, a fighter, and a ******* tought SOB. You can turret dive with it if you're good, but please, dont abuse it, it can also kill you.
With his noxian charge+shield+acid hunter combo, ghost will make you able to chase opponent all the way trough their map/turret.
I,m really not a fan of ignite, but since Urgot is such a good harasser, as soon as you have the enemy player below 50%, dive with ghost, shield, charge and acid hunter, and ignite will finish the last smidge of health they got.
If your team ask you to be mid, swap ignite for teleport. Teleport is also stronger than ignite in late-game...
POST MID-GAME ITEMS:
Chalice of harmony: +30 Magic Resistance +7.5 Mana Regen per 5 sec Unique Passive: Increases your Mana Regen by 1% per 1% Mana you are missing.
Good magic resist, good mana regen, fairly cheap.
That items makes it possible to spam all of your skills all the time and skill keep good amounts of manas. This make possible to farm (last hit), with only your Acid-hunter, and makes harassment a lot easier, since you wont need mana all the time
Boots of swiftness: UNIQUE Passive: Enhanced Movement 3
I see a lot of people might disagree with me here, but bear with me for a minute;
You out-range everyone, even ezreal, so no one will stun you, hit you, so Tabi's and Mercury's are out of the question, then berserker are just useless, and sorcerer... only his charge does magic damage. The boot of swiftness will make you THE chaser
Sword of the occult: +10 Attack Damage UNIQUE Passive: Your champion gains 5 damage per stack, receiving 2 stacks for a kill or 1 stack for an assist. This effect can stack 20 times; you lose a third of your stacks if you die. At 20 stacks, your champion's movement speed is increased 15%.
To be honest, i hate snowball items, but i will explain why sword of the occult is good on urgot.
Urgot is a tough SOB who can take anyone in a 1 v 1, plus, he out-range everyone.
IF you play like I play, you won't die much, and before your enemy see your stacks rising, it will be too late.
Randuin Omen:+300 Health +90 Armor +25 Health Regen per 5 sec. UNIQUE Passive: 15% Cooldown Reduction and 20% chance on being hit to slow the attacker's movement and attack speeds by 25% for 3 seconds. UNIQUE Active: Slows movement speeds and attack speeds of surrounding units by 35% for 2 seconds + 0.5 seconds for each 100 Armor and Magic Resist. 60 second cooldown.
You have to protect those stacks with something and Randuin brings everything Urgot needs to be good; CdR, Armor, Health, Regen, it's just plain awesome.
You're swapping someone? ACTIVE, BOOYAH/HEADSHOT, no ones will run away from you with this, or no one should be able to catch up to you with this. Dont forget to use the active.
The CdR with that and brutalizer will give you 36% CdR in end-game. THis mean, SPAM ACID HUNTER. THis means also more ultimate, more everything.
The brutalizer:+25 Attack Damage UNIQUE Passive: Reduces ability cooldowns by 10% and +15 Armor Penetration.
Booyah, More damage, more CdR, more Armor pen.
IF you get there, you are seriously becoming badass.
The bloodthirster: +60 Attack Damage +15% Lifesteal Passive: Gain an additional 1 Physical Damage and 0.25% Lifesteal per kill. Maximum of +40 Damage and 10% Lifesteal. Bonuses are lost upon death.
The lifesteal gives more survivability in 1 vs 1 fight. Plus this items brings the biggest amount of damage possible to stack with your acid-hunter.
Swap chalice in end-game with a second bloodthirster.
SUMMARY OF ITEMS
My items are build around precise thing;
Protection of your stacks
Pure, raw damage for your acid-hunter.
I feel that if you get your 20 stack with your sword of occult, people will just dive at you to kill you, you need to make them regret it by being uber-tough with Randuin omen.
I go Pure damage, no crit, no attack speed for simple reason; In big, messy group fight, you can just pick 1 target and spam acid hunter. Dont auto-attack unless neccesary.
AND FINALLY; THe reason i dont get trinity force is that i dont want attack speed, i dont want crit, i dont want the slow(i got randuin), i dont want the mana.
In end-game, your cooldown on acid hunter is 1,2 second, trinity force proc is 4 sec cooldown. Your acid hunter will beneficiate more from pure/raw damage like bloodthirster. I dont go for on-hit effect cause the time it would take for you to stack the black cleaver debuff, the fight would be over by then. Black cleaver is for high attack speed character.
Frozen Heath is also a bad choice; You dont need mana and Randuin omen is just better in every way in my opinion.
I would not say no to phantom Dancer tough; GOod moovement speed(FOr better chasing) a little bit of crit and attack speed are always welcome, but i like bloodthirster more, just go for what you feel.
Frozen mallet is also bad for Urgot; Acid hunter doesnt proc ''on hit'' effect. The health is good, but you get enough with randuin, plus, the slow doesnt stack with randuin's, i like having more armor and Cooldown reduction, so before taking Frozen Mallet, take randuin, please.
Some people might think i build around acid hunter too much, but you will still be able to take anyone on a 1 v 1 situation, and the goal is to use what you have at the best of your capacity, you need to ace every teamfight and make your enemy rage.
If you have problems, dont go for Sword of occult, Urgot is hard to master. Go for Brutalizer first then randuin, then try to go for sword of occult.A good player knows his limits.
I go health quint, dodge seals and CdR glyph and ArP marks for increased toughness, dps, and to be able to spam his skills more often. Feel free to use whatever you might have in stock, the health quint are fearly expensive.
I go for defense mastery for simple reasons; You have almost the CdR capped with only the 3 offence masteries. You dont beneficiate from crit damage or improved ignite, i feel that Urgot really shine trough deep defense mastery.
Good lane partner... every tank are good, since you will provide a ranged ability that will make the enemy scared of you, it will open a path for your tank to farm a bit (And tanks usually dont have it easy on farming in early-mid game)
Pick a meki pendant, 2 health pots and head to bottom or top lane. I will that Urgot skills really shine trough laning, and i dont like being middle with him.
For the first few level, just concentrate on last hitting with either auto-attack or acid hunter, dont use your noxian charge to farm-yet.
If you see a clear shot for acid hunter to land on a stupid enemy player, go for it. but be conservative.
When you have enough money for boots and chalive of harmony, go back to base.
WHen you are back, you have to establish yourself as the master of the lane.
Hit your enemy's with Noxian charge(together with the minions) and spam Acid hunter. Rinse, repeat.
They are under 50%? Ghost, ignite, your usual combo=Sure kill.
If you have your ulti, use it, it makes it possible to tank the two of them without dying.
We are now in Mid game.
Continu farming in your lane. You are extremely good at holding a dual lane with the insane range on acid hunter, so it makes it easier for your lane partner to just go around and gank people.
If you see a gank opportunity, go for it, but dont ultimate just for the fun of it, turrets still hurts.
As soon as you see someone under 50%, you can go for the kill with your Noxian charge+shield slow+acid hunter/ignite combo.
I'm not going to describe exactly how i play him, i'm just going to give guidelines.
1. Follow your tank, at all time.
2. You are not a back-doorer, dont bother with it.
3. You see an empty lane with a ****load of minions? Noxian Charge the **** out of them.
4. Never grab lizard OR Golem, your carry needs them, you have a slow, a DoT plus you have enough Mana regen and CdR.
5. In big messy team-fight. You shoot a noxian corrosive charge in the whole lot of them, and just hover your mouse cursor on the head of the enemy carry. It will bring down her/his dps by 15%, wich is insanely awesome, after 2 enemy's are dead, you ulti on one, use randuin omen, the remainer of the group should then be picked on by the rest of your team/you with Ghost, acid hunter(plus dont forget to use your shield for the slow)
6. YOu can kite quite effectively with your shield slow, randuin+acid hunter. It's not because you are bellow half that you should always retreat, make use of your Crowd control/range.
Thats it for now, i'm sure i'm going to add some other guidelines later on. I'm going to add better skills description. I just wanted the build published really fast to help out new Urgot to perfrom. Feel free to comment, but if you vote, please add a comment. Thank you for reading this!!
