Thanks, you really helped me out with the icons, but I'm still Creating another item list for Deathfire Gasp Chalice etc.

Lux and Morgana belong to my favorite casters, so I have played her a lot. I never had a problem with her squishiness early game as you got spellvamp. Chalice is also giving you some magic resist what's almost good anytime.
I am not playing CV on Morgana myself. I prefer Ignite + Teleport. But you could add that to your list.
Deathfire Grasp is also giving CDR. So it actually does not really matter if Deathfire or Morellos. Anyway in my opinion Deathfire Grasp is more viable on her as it is boosting her nuke ability.

Well, Morgana is squishy early game, so its good to have doran's ring for health and mana regen. If you start out with meki pendant, then your easy to kill. And I build meki pendant into morello's evil tome for cooldown reduction and mana regen. CV is usefull, however, I feel that flash and ignite are better summoner spells, and missing out on the for CV is a waste for me. Honestly, I think your smite idea is good, but, using smite just to take out one minion is kinda wasting it, and they could also hide behind more than one minion. I also agree that Deathfire Grasp is good, but I think cooldown reduction is just more important, but Deathfire Gasp is very useful too. BTW, I'll add a Optional items list.

Why do you actually write CV is not viable on Morgana? Actually it's great to have that once in your team. And if you are playing random and got no support it's a good skill for Morgana as you can scout bushes to be able to hit with your stun.
In addition to that I saw a few Morgana players who used Smite. I know this sounds stupid but in the right hands Smite is a really dangerous spell on her. Most players will use creeps to prevent getting stunned. Smite is solving that problem as you can immediately kill that creep, hit with your stun and kill that enemy if you matched bringing him on critical health (= low enough to kill with one combo).

Morgana is pretty mana dependend in the beginning. That's why I usually start with a Meki's and go for a chalice after that. In this case you can kick your Morellos for Deathfire Grasp.
You should also give same alternative items for Morgana. Mejais Soulstealer, RoA and Abyssal Scepter (as it synergizes with her ult) are very viable on Morgana as well.
