This is my first guide. I started this guide because I saw many people playing Kog'Maw very wrong. I think Kog'Maw is the best anti-tank the best ability for this is Bio-Arcane Barrage. Also a nice ability is Caustic Spittle. I build my guide on Bio-Arcane Barrage. I hope it will help you.

My masteries are:
I think it have no sense to describe every mastery. But I want to say why I take Arcane Knowledge . Themagic penetration in my whole guide help you to do more damage with your Bio-Arcane Barrage.
My runes are:
Greater Seal of Mana Regeneration
Greater Mark of Lethality
Greater Mark of Magic Penetration
Greater Glyph of Scaling Mana Regeneration
Greater Quintessence of Magic Penetration
Greater Quintessence of Lethality
For summoner spells I take Flash and Exhaust.
Both spells help you for running away, but the also help you to chase enemies. Use your Flash often through walls that is the most important reason for taking it.
Exhaust is very nice with the mastery Summoner's Wrath . It don't just slows the enemy champions movement and attack speed it also reduce their magic resist and their armor.
Also a nice choise for Kog:
It is a great escape ability and also nice for chasing.
Nice to kill some "luckers" it can also save your ***.
Kog'Maw is very slow so you can use teleport to get faster to allies.
Really not recommended:
If you really need mana then buy Mana Potions.
You are not a jungler and you can farm minions also without it.
I don't know why that spell exist, it is very useless.
Just supporters take that spell.
Not really needed you can also escape without it.
I think that's also a very useless summoner spell.
Normally you play with a supporter on your lane.
Never seen somebody use this.
I will just use it if I would play with ap Kog'Maw.
If you die you become a bomb that can kill enemies.
If you are sure you can win a fight and then you loose it don't give up kills some guys with this passive. Make the best of that ability.
Passive: Give you attack speed. Active: Reduces the targets armor and magic resist.
I don't take this ability early game because I don't need the attack speed or the reduction for armor and magic resist. But in late game you need it for teamfights then this ability becomes very important.
Give you extra range and damages the target equals of the % maximum health they have.
You most important early game ability and also the most important late game ability. The range let you destroy turrets from a save range that enemies can't kill you so easy. Also it helps against players building Warmog's Armor first.
This skill slows enemies in front of you.
You only escape ability and disable ability. Use it for ganks and also for escaping.
Fires a nuke over a big distance.
Your most important harass ability. Use it to spot enemies in bushes and to kill "luckers".
My skill sequence is:
I don't take Caustic Spittle at low levels. I think the attack speed isn't so awesome and it deals not so many damage in early game. I love to use it in late game because it brings tank easily down.
(If you are good in last hitting)
(If you are not so not so good in last hitting)
I always start with Boots of Speed and 3x Health Potion's.
But if you are not so good with last hitting then take Doran's Blade.
I recommend Boots of Speed+3x Health Potion's but if you are with a supporter on lane then take Doran's Blade.
I think the best support for Kog'Maw is Soraka, Sona and Taric.
Try to play very defensive until level 6. When you reach level 6 you get your Living Artillery.
Now you use your Living Artillery to harass the enemy champions, this abilitiy is a nuke use it wise.
Use it like this:
You have to place your Living Artillery behind the enemy that is very important!
You should went back when you have 1620 gold if you took Boots of Speed.
Or by 1970 gold if you took Doran's Blade.
If you can't afford both items then buy Recurve Bowfirst and then Berserker's Greaves!
This items will give you nice attack speed(for your Bio-Arcane Barrage and movement speed for chasing or running away.
Here are some pictures they show you like to use your abilities for ganks and also normal:
Here I slowed Annie in front of me then I owned her with Bio-Arcane Barrage.
And so you use Void Ooze for ganks, after I set the slow I owned her with Bio-Arcane Barrage.
In early game you are one of the worst champions on the field, Madred's Bloodrazor change that. The combination with Bio-Arcane Barrage let the enemies just running.
For using your nice combination like a boss you need attack speed.
For that I prefer buying Ionic Spark. It has +50 attack speed, give you 250 health, and the passive rocks. You need the health that you are not so squishy mid game anymore. The passive is: every forth attack you send out and spark that deals 110 damage up to 4 enemies.
Try it it is just awesome.
You will see in Mid game you are awesome.... but it comes better :D
Now comes the best part of the guide:
This items are just awesome. The Black Cleaver is your first anti-tank item (excluding Madred's Bloodrazor).
It give you nice attack speed and the passive rocks. It reduces the armor of the target by 15 and it stacks 3 times.
But you are whole the time squishy the only thing can help you is Frozen Mallet.
700 health + 20 damage + every basic attack slows the target by 25% is just awesome. Frozen Mallet let you survive if you get focused in team fights. The passive is good for chasing enemies.
And the last item is your best ad-item it is The Bloodthirster.
This item give you full stacked 100 ad + 25% lifesteal. The lifesteal is again for surviving and also it helps you to join a teamfight quickly again you went away.
The most important thing in the whole game. If your team sucks early and mid game don't worry. With your Madred's Bloodrazor the game is nearly won. In teamfights cover behind your allies.
Let the tank go first and then attack the squishiest target in the enemies team.
The primary target is normally the ad carry.
Now how you can own someone:
Caustic Spittle- Void Ooze- Bio-Arcane Barrage- Living Artillery
That was the play style and the item description I hope you learned much :)
This build is for more attack speed and movement speed. I would use it if you think you are too slow in team fights.
That is a build focused at anti-tank. I would use it if the enemies team have more than 1 tank.
This is a survival build. If you are the primary target in team fights take Banshee's Veil. Wit's End give you nice magic restist and let you couter the most ap champions. It stacks magic resist with your basic attacks.
