Hello this is Killfish18 and this is my first Official guide on Mobafire. I am going to explain to you my Xin Zhao guide and what works best for me.
Now for runes I prefer running more attack speed than anything that way you are activating your passive as much as possible. You may also run all attack speed red instead of just 3 but having the +10 armor pen helps late when people start getting tanky.
I like running the 16-3-11 setup mostly because you do not need anything beyond the 16 points in offensive and the extra armor just helps with the route that I like using.
Now for items I like starting the usual cloth armor 5x pots. From there I build a wriggles and merc treds. Now if you want you can put in a Heart of Gold if gold will be harder to come by. But core I build a tanky dps because if you can hit a lot of people with your ultimate you become incredibly tanky in that 6 seconds. But I like having that attack speed stuff so when you activate your W you get the most out of the effect of reducing your cool downs. The last item you get would be situational if you need more damage you can get an infinity edge, more attack speed a phantom dancer would be nice, or more tankiness you can get an armor of magic resist item depending on the other team.
Pretty Self explanatory you want to max your Q first and your W second and your E last, leveling up your ultimate when you can. Getting one point in E at level 4 is imperative for ganking.
Smite because it is always important for junglers can not live without it unless you are warwick. Flash because it is the strongest summoner in the game at the moment and nothing else is really worth it. The only ones that could be used alternatively is Exhaust or Ghost.

Creeping / Jungling
For jungling Xin Zhao is really easy if you have a lot of attack speed to start hence the runes.
I like to start at double golems WITHOUT using smite, using 3 talon strike when able using health potion once your first 3 talon hits one of the golems up. (can do with or without leash, having a leash helps).
Next I move to red buff and I use 3 talon on the big one and use W right after then 3 talon once it is off CD. (Smite it when you can)
Next head to wraiths clear those starting with the big one making sure you use a health potion.
Next head over to wolves and clear those using Q-W-Q.
After those you should be around 70-80% health because of your health potions and should still have one left.
So once you engage the big one use your health potion then use your Q then W right after it ends then Q again. (smite when it is around 500)
By now you will be level 4 where you level up E and should be around 60% health enough to gank lanes.
When to Gank?
Now there are 3 forms of ganking
1. Lane ganks (does not work on middle) where you go through the lane while your team has it pushed up and hide in the second bush.
2. From the side which is the most common only problem is there is more of a chance of it being warded.
3. And just straight up tower diving with your team which is still a gank.
Initiating a fight
Xin Zhao's biggest role in fights is to be the initiator which is why you want to be tanky.
The easiest way to do this is to use your Audacious Charge on someone in the back and try and hit as many people as possible with your R so you get the most armor and magic resist possible. After that you just use your Three Talon Stike on the AD or AP carry whoever you think should be first to go and since they get disabled they can not do much while your team focuses them down.
