Introduction

Hello, I haven't played Wukong for a while, but this guide is to help remind me and maybe help some people on how I play him. This guide will not be completed on the first day and will get updates. Wukong is a strong solo top with a great ultimate. I feel his early game is a bit weak though.

Runes

For runes I get atk dmg marks for easier farming and better nimbus strike harass. Seals and glyphs are standard for bruisers unless your facing a magic dmg solo top. Quints for same reason as marks.

Summoner Spells

I get Cleanse and Ignite. Ult then get to their carries or run away with Cleanse if they cc me is pretty good. Ignite for damage.

Masteries

For masteries I favor the defense mastery tree so I can be tanky and hopefully not get zoned by the opponent since I should be able to tank more hits than he can.

Items

My items help sustain me and I don't really like the usual wriggle route on wukong. Sometimes I get the BF Sword before heart of gold if I have enough money when I recall. Always buy at least 1 ward. I usually like to put it at their blue entrance if I'm purple team. If blue team I ward their tri bush. Also buy health potions if more sustain is needed. Of course switch mercury treads to ninja tabi if not facing much crowd control. Getting bloodthirster before trinity for an offense item will make your ult do a lot more damage. Usually I find my bt fully stacked since wukong can be evasive and play safe. Randuins Omen in my opinion the best armor item. The active will slow nearby enemies, which works well with your ultimate. Force of Nature over other magic resist items for the 8% movement speed.

Skill Sequence

Nimbus strike is maxed first for harassing and attack speed. Crushing Blow second for more dps. A good combo is nimbus, auto atk, and crushing blow since crushing blow resets your atk timer. Decoy is maxed last as leveling it doesnt do much dmg and cooldown is still pretty high.

Lane Opponents

I will be trying to update this, as well as learn how to get images...

Against Galio, after he uses his skills, which have decently long cooldowns, is your perfect chance to harass him. He can't counter since his skills are on cooldown. Abuse champions with long cooldowns so the trades will leave you with higher health.

Against Renekton, don't pick wukong. Renekton is too strong for him sadly.

Against Gangplank, he can be annoying with his Q and then his auto atks slow you when you try to run away after you try to harass him. Try to get a jungler to gank him so that you will have the advantage. Your ultimate wrecks him most of the time.

Against Yorick, try to farm and wait for jungler ganks. He is quite a bully with his skills. I find it hard to trade since his ghosts slow me when I retreat.

Team Fighting

Remember to see if your team members all have their ultimates ready. Your ultimate can be used to initiate or counter initiate if their team gets on you. You usually want to focus their carries with your speed and gap closers. One way to initiate if your team is ready is to decoy, walk forward, nimbus strike, and ult. Then use Randuins Omen active to slow. I never got to try reverie but I guess use it while you ult or when your teammates get to you.

Summary

Wukong is a great team fighter with his ultimate being able to initiate or counter initiate. I got many of my ideas from other guides, so the credit doesn't all go to me.
