Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello, I'm TheBriggz, I've been playing Wukong since his release experimenting with all sorts of builds, and giving the ones that have given me some reasonable success a long grind to see the consistency. This is the most reliable way to build him I have found. I hope it will bring as much success to you as it has to me.
These runes are typical for any sort of AD harass or carry. Which is how I play Wukong anyway. The armor pen will benefit you throughout the entire game, while the blues and yellows help keep you just that little bit tanky when you need to be.
This probably seems a bit odd of a build for a tanky dps type of champion, but it gives me more than enough success. His cooldowns are relatively low to begin with, and you should be staying in lane throughout the first 15 minutes of the game in order to secure your early game farm.
After awhile you need to start ganking mid, or setting up ganks for lanes, wukong is a terrific ganker but sadly just isn't fast enough in the jungle to benefit from it. So you need to make sure your team is on the same page you are when you decide to gank.
These items were thought over and tested many many times, and this seems to be the most consistent way to maintain high damage whilst not making yourself a squishy monkey. Use your E and Q to harass often, only use your W when you need to make the get-a-way. Spamming it brings no use to you as you'll quickly drain your mana pool. It's best to think of it as the same with Akali's W, use it when you need to.
This will give you the most early game harass and damage in lane, if you follow my items thoroughly you will see that the ability to keep poking at someone is top-notch for dominating your lane. Whether that be a lane supported by soraka or janna. Or the solo-top lane which you use to gain your farm advantage.
Never underestimate the power of Q + Brutalizer in the early game. It can and will dominate most tanky champions.
Ghost/Exhaust, Extremely potent when combined with your closer + ultimate. Ghost in, E to the AD or AP carry, lay down Exhaust on the AD and ult. This essentially disables the carry from moving or doing anything of use to his/her team. And almost guarantees you a kill, if used in the correct situations (setting up a gank) I can lead to an Ace! for your team in a hurry.
In summary, I know this isn't the most thorough of guides and I do hope to make improvements as popularity for this guide rises. I am certain, however, that this guide can only lead you down a path of success, whether that be following this as a cookie-cutter, or using your own innovations to branch off and improve. I am all for improvement.
