Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hey guys and gals, I've been playing Wukong for a little bit now and I've used this build consistently and it has done very well in my opinion.
There are some common mistakes that people make when playing Wukong, one of those is that they think they're rambo because of their passive. You cannot take on 5 people because you get more armor and magic resist from them being around you. That being said, at the moment, try to play it a bit safer since people tend to focus trigger happy Wukong's.
One tip I will give to you that you will find is extremely useful, is FARM. Any time there are people roaming around, go push a lane. You can do this very effectively if you utilize your skills, just make sure you don't get ganked by the other team (map awareness). In a normal game you should have 200+ creep score, this dramaitically helps build your items and in turn you become a major force to be reckoned with.
The runes I use include Armor Pen marks and quints so you'll be able to do a boatload of damage consistently throughout the gank, this is especially true with your Q harass. Flat armor seals and magic resist glyphs help with your durability in lane and in team fights.
The masteries I run have improved exhaust because it always comes in handy no matter what, I also build down the tanky tree for even more durability since this build is mainly for pure dps. This will somewhat baffle your enemies when you pop out with 110 armor and 135 m.res late game with only having a banshees veil.
The items built focus primarily on taking down your target fast. With your armor penetration you can even put tanks to shame especially when your attack speed climbs up to 1.8 with nimbus strike.
In lane you should probably be bottom or maybe solo top if you're feeling confident. Because of Wukong's generally low mana costs harassment comes naturally.
Early game: E--> W or E--> Q depending on how aggressive your opponent is back at you.
Late game: E-->R (cancel by pressing R again if you are being focused or are finished knocking people up) --> Q-->E (and so forth. Fit W in there if you need to escape or looking for a tactical advantage when attacking)
Flash and Exhaust. Using flash could be used offensively ex. getting a killing Crushing Blow on an enemy, or using it similar to Fiddlesticks with your Cyclone to disturb the teamfight to the max. Or it can be used defensively to get away from a gank or escaping after killing someone under their turret. Exhaust is multipurpose as well, used to focus an enemy down because of the 30% increased damage or if you are trying to escape from someone nasty and fast (Singed).
Overall, Wukong is my favourite champion to play in the game at the moment because of all the potential he has in a game. Extremely fun to play, I recommend getting him because he is a great all around character.
* I will experiment with tankier builds with him to see how they work out and if I have success I will include it in this build.
(Sorry I don't know how to include those pictures of items and skills in the guide yet, but once I figure it out, I'll make the changes to make it more visually appealing :D )
