Hey guys, I will be quick here. I NOT a pro. Yes I have played heaps of games with Wukong and I think he is the perfect champion in the game(personal opinion). I'm not saying this is the best way to build Wukong but I have made a lot of wins by doing this "play style." I'm not going to make this all pretty in pink really cause I didn't want to......... :D
Greater Quintessence of Vigor: 3. Because Wu doesn't have the sustain like a lot of over top laners, which makes him week at the start of the game but with +8.1 health regen/5 seconds which will be handy for sustain.
Greater Mark of Alacrity: 9. To me Attack speed is very handy at the start able to hit more often but if you struggle with last hitting I would take Greater Mark of Strength because that will give a little more AD at the start for last hitting.
Greater Seal of Resilience: 9. just your standard flat armor runes cause more often then not there will be an other AD champ up top as well.
Greater Glyph of Shielding: 9. Mainly the magic per level runes cause you wont be seeing real many AP champs till about level 10 which by then your magic/lvl runes start to over take flat(I did try flat for a long time. I notice no big difference until an AP champ goes top lane then things do get tricky)
The reason behind 21/9/0 is because Wu really only needs magic resist, armor and health regen from defense which will help him stay in lane(and the runes put together.)
Taking 21 in offence because Wu can bring a lot to the table when it comes down to it a lot more then most champs so taking all these in offence to surprise other top laners that you came to play.
and 0 in Utility because Wu has nothing there that really helps AT ALL....
The starting items really depends on the champion you're going to lane against. if you need more speed at the start to either run away from enemies or chase down but if you feel that you cant take a hit that well then grab cloth and 5 health pots. You might want to start boot and 3 health pots for that early bit of speed and still able to have a little bit of sustain in laning phase.
I always get Wriggler lantern for that bit of everything that you need in top lane(WARD, AD, ARMOR and LIFE STEAL). finish off your boot depending of what champions are going to do what on the enemies team(AD or AP heavy), Get ninja Tabi if it's a AD heavy team or mercury's treads if they're AP heavy. Then go fora Phage (to start Trinity Force) it also will give you that bit of health and AD to keep in lane, if you do need help staying in lane, go on and buy some health and mana pots. Then get a sheen after to help with the burst damage that Wu, (to me) needs, then buying the rest of the items needed for Trinity Force. They are the core of any Wukong build to me. Tier 2 boots, Wrigglers lantern and Trinity Force which will give you a good start.
Now It will depend on the enemy and how they are playing for the late game building blocks because if they have been getting fed in anyway defense WILL be what you need to build, If it's the AP's getting fed then a force of nature will be very good cause of all the passives it does get you. AD's fed like normal GET A THORNMAIL! But if the enemy team is NOT ripping it up GET a Bloodthirster because it will give you everything you need to become scary. then build defensive later when they start to get a bit more damage going for them, yet again depends on who is doing the most damage on the enemies team.
There is 2 main ways you can play this at and that's max Crushing Blow first, or Max Nimbus Stike. I prefer crushing blow cause after Nimbus strike you hit with a basic attack then smack them for high amount of damage later cause of sheen (trinity force when you get it) which helps in his burst damage. Nimbus strike I would normally harass with it jumping then decoying out for no or very little damage.
I feel that ghost is a must for Wu, cause when he decoys you pop it and can gain i lot more distance and beat for enemies to the finish line of safety, and I choose Teleport just so you have that global presence being able to jump to a minion and backdooring, there is no better feeling. You can take Flash if you want to chase or flee enemies up to you really on how you want to play Wukong, tele will also get you back in lane quicker that also means more exp and money if you last hit minions or push down that tower.
I feel that you will take a bit of getting use to the set up but once you do i reckon you will love him as much as I do. I do hope you take something away from this guide if not then i hope you find one you do like and play very well.
And I Hope To See You Out There HereComesTheFuzz
