Wukong Build Guide by Brodienz

Really nice guide, great job. You've got loads of information in it, it's nicely formatted, and by using it as a tool for yourself, in addition to having it serve as a guide to other people, you're keeping it fluid and up-to-date with new ideas, experiences, and metagame as well. Keep up the good work!

I won't even try it, I'll just rate it up since this is how a guide should look like. You did an excellent job from grammar, BB-coding, colours, pictures. I like it a lot, it has everything a beginner, or a "pro" could use and should know. Keep up the good work I hope there will be more like this.

Ahhh, finnaly a guide just like me. Low vievs, 100% up vote rate, and in general pretty similiar :p

Anyways, i'll make a rewiev in hope you will rewiev ym guide back :)
(Note: I'll say just the BAD things, and maybe the BEST things.. so you wont thing im doing rewiev on good and bad things, i think telling you "This is good, this is good this is good.." is pointless, as you see it if i dont list it under BAD things. So lets get started, shall we :) ?

• I think, that lore is an useless chapter, and makes guides look a bit noobish.. my personal opinion, but recondiser it.
  
• Not much, but Decoy and Nimbus Strike skill descriptions have nice walls of words, put some colour in it, and spit it into 2 pieces :) (also, 2 times you misswrote nimbus strike, and wrote "nimbus stike" and thus code sint working)
  
• Ur saying that Ulti is an great initiator, and then say you initiate with ur E.. fix it a bit, intiating skill is one that BRINGS you there, its not the one that actually does sumthing. ( Amumu initiates with Q, not R)
  
• About decoy uses, dont say "first, 2nd, 3nd," btu rether write " first use, 2nd use, 3rd use" Also i think you should add the part you make an uncontrollable decoy of you THAT INTERCEPTS SKILLSKOTS AND STUFF LIKE THAT.
  And maybe, you write too much points about same thing.
  
• Masteries... just NO. NEVER take 4 points in deathliness and dont take lethality... thats a no-go... its defniatly not worth 3hpp/5 and reducing dmg you'd get from def ;)
  
• Runes. Please, dont take flat mr.. 90% you'll lane vs an AD solotopper, and you will need that double mr later in game(more in items section of rewiev)
  
• Items. Long one.
  Why you buy Sheen so damn early? Cuz you burst like a boss? But damn, when sheen becomes more and more effective and its not as effective that soon as it will eb 20 mins later, when you BASE AD is higher, and threadfore the dmg.
  
  I think its OK to rush trinity, but you meight want to try Wu with a Frozen mallet. Im an Irelia player, and ik how boss you become when you buy trinity, btu irelia has better gapcloser, and has a great cc.. while Wu hasnt got one, which is his great flaw.. if you dont slow with phage in 2 htis (which is about 50% (2x35 isnt 70)) so that 100% 40% slow meight be great on wu. (just saying tho)
  
  MR AND ARMOR!! Why, i ask you why, you buy 1 armor item (weak) and VERY strong magic def item, with little utility. Look at the meta.. 3 ad, 1 ap, and support which is no dmg. So bacilly you should take 10x as much AD than AP (ad carry is gonna shoot in you, while ap carry will nuke ur ad).
  Force of nature is so unviable on your build, banshees veikl offers MUCH more utility and offrs that nice chunk of hp that should be accepted with pleasure. So really, having 150+ mr is a waste.. runes +ur passive + veil WILL offer you enought MR to survive even veigars nuke..
  
• " Aegis of the Legion is an ok all round item" nope. ITs most cost efective item in the game, so its great item, and should be bought at 20 mins if teamfights will vreak out (ofc tell sup to buy it for you, but if she doesnt, you do)
  
• sunfire cape.. no, just no... pay 830 for 35 mage dmg /s ? srsly? thats nothing, tbh. -resists its like 15 DPS.. is it really worth it? it will take you like 20 sec to do some dmg to whole team, but if thier team is alive for 20 sec, u probs arent..
  
• gameplay..well, you meigth add matchups, its really great addition to your guide..
  
• the photo "the monkey king is coming" should be at the end ;)
  
• also, in your scores, you should shot at least 1 game with the bzuild above.
  
• closing words after credits ;)

Well, that would be it, i hope you'll change somethings, and i hope you'll return me the favour.
In general, this guide has potential, so +1 ;)

Hi Lord Drek, thank you for your time and response. If I could just take a minute to respond to some of your points, hopefully it will help clarify some of my decisions, although agreed, some of your points are completely valid.

-I put the champion lore in to introduce both the character and his stats. I am assuming that there are some players who have never played Wukong-This part is for them.

-Agreed, I use the term initiator when referring to both skills. I believe that the Nimbus Strike is a great skill to get you in close to the enemy, particularly in 1v1 fights, so I would consider it the true initiating skill, however, when I refer to Cyclone as being an initiator, I mean in terms of team fights. When you have ulti'd on your enemy team, I believe you are initiating the team fight. Whilst I may have gotten close to them with the E, I meant to refer to my Cyclone as an AOE initiator that gives your team the advantage. I will make that clearer in my next edit and thank you!

-I am more than happy to add some more colour if it is felt there is more needed. Again, my next edit can include those changes.

-I do mention the use of the Decoy to avoid skill shots. It's in the section where I talk about using it for skills like Rocket Grab. I can make it clearer.

-Agreed about the masteries.

-I find that the flat MR runes help me no matter who I am against top. It means I am prepared for all eventualities, but that is just my playstyle, as I discuss in the runes section there are other options.

-I find that sheen is effective early game as well as late game. It makes my harass much more effective which is generally how I play Wukong, there is no item that I have discovered to be as effective throughout the game as Sheen/ Trinity Force for Wu.



-As I explain in the items section of my guide, every item after Trinity Force is situational and it's up to the player themselves to make the decision as to whether or not they need more armour. For myself, the armour I get, alongside the AD boost, has been more than enough for all of the games I have played so far. I would be reluctant to change that item unless there is an extremely fed AD member of the team because I lose out on a good chunk of damage as well.

-The Force of Nature is a great item to get alongside Warmog's Armor as the health regen is crazy. To say that it is not viable is wrong. With the passive, my health regenerates at a ridiculous rate, allowing me to come back in to team fights almost immediately. I also talk about the possibility of Banshee's Veil being a replacement for Force of Nature in the items section, but it depends who their AP carry is. They are both great items for Wu.

- Aegis of the Legion is a good item. But not as useful as other items when considering Wukong's role and his abilities. There are better items to have for him. Just my opinion, but one that has made me successful in many games.

-I never suggest that the player should take Sunfire Cape. I just discuss it as a possibility. It's up to the player to decide whether or not they want it and in actual fact, if the player has had to resort to an almost solid tank role ( it does happen sometimes) then Sunfire Cape is a good option.

-Agreed on the matchups, I will definitely be looking in to a way to include that section.

The other Aesthetic points, I will look into.

Thanks for taking the time to review the guide, your points were really appreciated. I don't necessarily agree with them all, but it's good to be challenged on my choices as you never know when you have missed something.

Alright, I see what's going on now. Just saying, you might want to make some sort of notice about the other two builds, because I'm sure I'm not the only one here who was wondering that ;)

Haha, yeah, I do say somewhere that it's kind of a **** role to have to play, but sometimes you play with **** people. But agreed, I will put in a section on the other two builds, explaining that they are most definitely not a set in stone way of building Wukong, just an experiment. Cheers!
