An Explanation of Each Item

Doran Blade
Good way to start, some champs like Singed allow you to just walk up and slap them at level 1, so it's good for poke, and gives the lifesteal and a little hp as well.

Lich Bane
This item adds ability power, which makes his Q, passive, and ultimate stronger. More ability power means more healing and damage from his Q and ultimate. Not only is this the case, but the item provides movement speed as well, to make sure you can chase a target without him or her getting away. When you get one low, you have almost 500 movement speed to run around and do whatever you need. The passive from this item also seals the deal for extra damage: you can Q someone, and follow up with a hit that deals tons of damage, or ult them, Q then, then hit them. That'll show 'em who's boss!

Rabadon's Deathcap
Tons of damage from your Q and ultimate, as well as extra healing for your Q, since it will do more damage. Your passive, Q, and ultimate are all ability power, so this is extremely useful for damage.

Wit's End
More attack speed, more magic resist, and extra damage from basic attacking. It adds 42 magic damage to basic attacks, providing you with about 45 magic damage per basic attack, and is great for a 1v1 with a mage or a heavy ability power user.

Spirit Visage
Increased healing and a little magic resist as well from this item, which is great for Warwick's lifesteal. He heals a bunch more from attacks like his Q and his basic attacks.

Blade of the Ruined King
Great for attack speed and lifesteal, and adds to your basic attacking power. The ability power from the other items is good for your Q, passive, and ultimate, but this pretty much seals the deal for you as an all-round killer.

Berserker's Greaves /w Aclarity
Good for extra movement speed, whether running or chasing, and the attack speed as well. You'll have about 430 movement speed with the Lich Bane combined.
