Laning Phase Tips
1) try to save your passive for after your combo. You want to try and hit your opponent with W first, the slow will make your Q much easier to land, and leave with an auto attack to keep your mana full. This is one of the most annoying lane harass champions ever because of this early sustain.
2) Try not to use your E at all if not needed unless it's an escape from a gank. It's mana heavy but can be your biggest life saver, or a last minute stun to make sure you finish off your target.
3) Don't be afraid if you weren't able to finish your target to move into enemy turret range for a blind max rang Q. People seem to forget that you have huge range and take a straight path back to turret for their recall, and this might be your last hit for a kill. Make sure you have wards behind you if you do this though, because you will be an easy over extended kill target for their jungle.
Quick tips to wreck teams with Xerath
1) Funnel and Bait fights into the jungle. All your abilities are skill shots, so the narrow corridors of the jungle help you hit these with ease and hit multiple targets as well. Then you can use ultimate from long range to finish off any runners.
2) Save shocking orb for some hard engage. It will allow your frontline to win in the trenches.
3) Against a stacked up team use W into your Q very quickly and don't be afraid to pop your ultimate into the crowd if they are bunched up it hits multiple targets, and does big time damage. People always want to save it to finish one person off, but it's AOE effect can really help your team in a big fight.
