vaticanwarlord you talk all the time about getting kills but even when i carry a game its always people getting kills after i take nine tens of the enemy's hp and i can't take mejai's ! WHY !

Did not take into account for the use of his passive. Why rush chalice if you have a passive centered around mana sustain...doesn't make sense. The author obviously put together the guide based on pre-rework xerath. Yes, rushing CDR does sounds nice, but full ap/dorans/boots+pots are probably better choices. I understand Xerath is extremly reliant on CDR, but depending on the phase of the game, a fiendish codex when you need it will serve that purpose better since you can then build DFG from it, which i've found great success with in the 1-shot nuke combo.

Im not a good player but to me your guide beats the other FR one. I like your masteries better and im looking forwards to try out the runes. I have relatively many runes but usually play with a generalized

mage set for mages that i named Malzahar: magic penetration, armor, scaling magic resist and finally AP.
I also made an item set of my own a semi integration of both FR guildes. Im aware of the many points of relative agreement between the 2 FR guides like the order of skill picking. Ty for guide and GG all :)

Build section is extremely inelegant, as almost 1st part of build - it looks more like it was created by child, who shouldn't know how to read yet.

Thanks for all the feedback, I agree for most people my rune set is garbage; however, I seem to have more fun using glass cannon then some defense. Also I go for the late game, flat quints are usually superior in the mid to early game. I do however have a rune page for flat and I do use that on him occasionally. I appreciate all the help and advice thanks guys!

Thought some people might point this out, but your first build, "Certain Death" defence masteries has a slight problem with the tough skin and bladed armor. WHERES THE POINTS TO TOUGH SKIN?????

Honestly I hate mejai's and it loses games; there's way safer and better item picks that will still get you fed if you're good. But anyways nice layout and stuff. I don't play Xerath at all so I can't give much champion-specific advise, but right off the bat your runes don't seem optimal since your armor scales off AP but you build tons of MPen instead. Why not switch to flat AP for quints? Also it's a bit squishy and I prefer some kind of durability from yellows.
