Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
Hello, this is my first guide that I've ever created. Xin Zhao is currently my favorite Champion, so I decided to make a guide exactly related to him.
As you may already have noticed, this is a pure Xin DPS build. This build is heavily based on critical strike chance. I view Xin as a great tankish DPS'er with a really nice damage output.
Survivability because of passive
Can Slow/Knock your opponent in the air
Has trouble with escaping unless you've got Flash up.
Vulnerable to CC
Early Game: Start off with a Long Sword and a Healing Potion ( Candy Corn for halloween ). Try to last hit minions as much as you can because Xin really does need that gold due to the expensive items that you're going to get. Try not to return and stay at your lane before you reach around 1000-1500 gold. When you return, buy a Phage and, depending on how much gold you have, Dagger ( I prefer getting Dagger over Brawler's Gloves at this stage of the game because of the extra attack speed which you need badly ). After getting Phage you should start thinking about ganking. The skill order I would recommend is: E - R ( if your opponent is at full health, because the higher health your opponent has, the more damage Crescent Sweep deals ) - Q - W, however if your opponent is somewhat low then just pop Q - E and finish him off.
Mid Game: By this time you should already have Phantom Dancer and Berserker's Greaves. Try to gank as much as you can or just farm gold on minions by pushing your lane.
Late Game: This is where you become totally kick-***. With Infinity Edge + Frozen Mallet and hopefully Bloodthirster in hand, you've officially become a walking Nuclear friggin bomb, ready to explode on your enemies and make them QQ or go WTF for the rest of the game.
For this build, I went for Crit chance Marks, Seals and Magic resistance Glyphs + Health Quints. The reason I picked critical chance runes is because I felt that 50% ( that's what you would get without runes ) was not really enough.
For summoner spells I chose Flash and Exhaust. Flash because Xin doesn't really have that much escaping capabilites and Exhaust because it really helps you with both catching up and escaping some encounters.
I do tend to max Battle Cry out first because of the attack speed bonus which really helps because all that Xin is about is having enough attack speed for his skills. Three Talon Strike = requires attack speed in order to execute it faster, Xin's passive - requires attack speed to heal yourself up faster. I think it really helps you especially when laning and someone is trying to harass you. With that extra attack speed you can not only kill minions faster, but regain some of your hp aswell.
Three Talon Strike is maxed last, because It doesn't really give that much bonus damage and I mainly use it to knock my opponents up. I highly suggest that you max out Battle Cry, then Audacious Charge and only then Three Talon Strike.
As you may have already noticed, I didn't include some items in my build such as the Last Whisper or Sword of the Divine. Those are completely situational items - if you need them then get them. The perfect time to get Last Whisper would be after you get Phantom Dancer and, of course, only if your opponent is stacking armor.
I guess that pretty much sums it up, guys. I really do hope you enjoy and find this guide useful.
