Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
How this build came about?
Thought I would start it out by telling how this odd build came out. I was jungling with Xin Zhao one game when no one would provide me with a leash and forced me to improvise and have to go lane. Already having the vampiric scepter I came to the conclusion I was going to try to still have some armor but have massive dps. In this game I was sort of making this build up in my head what would go great with each other and they all seemed to balance out great. The best part was having the other team focus me always. Granted, I wasn't as tanky as usual, I still was the best player on that team. My kill-death-assist ratio for that game was 13-8-17. I felt this was a great start for just a build I thought up in my head because of my teammates stupidity.
Item rundown and why?
Well the vamp scepter comes in the beginning as your starting item which can give Xin Zhao a advantage in the beginning. He already does a **** load of damage to start with not to mention all of the masteries and runes enhancing that. He is also getting lifesteal which makes up for the lack of a health potion. This doesn't always work for characters but it mostly always does for Yi, Jax, Teemo and Xin Zhao(Attack Speed Masters). We then upgrade to wriggle's lantern which allows us to control the field with being able to see and more awesome lifesteal. Next we get berserker greaves for the attack speed and the enhanced movement. Next we get the black cleaver again for attack speed and for damage. Now we try to make up for the lack of tankiness by getting Randuin's Omen. We next get Last Whisper for some armor pen. We finally finish it off with Youmuu's Ghostblade which is a great finisher because it provides almost all of our needed boosts.
Rundown of Xin Zhao's Skills
Three Talon Strike- Deals some really nice damage and briefly can "Stun" a enemy by launching them in the air. I say this very lightly because it isn't really a stun but it stops an enemy and you can still lay down damage on him it.
Battle Cry- Increases your attack speed for a short amount of time. This reminds me of Wuju Style for Master Yi but that is AD. This A/S is really good for what you need it for just like Wuju Style goes with Master Yi. In comparison Yi has A/S and needs AD, and Xin Zhao needs A/S because he has AD.
Audacious Charge- A attack that allows you to jump and deal down damage on a fleeing opponent. This attack chained before a Three Talon Strike under the buff of battle cry is incredible. The range is quite wide and this is another reason why I often compare Xin Zhao to a tanky version of Master Yi.
Crescent Sweep- This ultimate deals damage based on the current hp of the target. It also increases the physical and magical resistance of Xin Zhao. This attack works great on high hp targets and is very essential if you want to get a multi-kill in a team fight.
