Xin zhao jungle went from being god tier to literally the worst (#46/46) jungler in the game due to riot's decision to remove devourer and replace it with blowrazor. Also the 1000$ price increase to guinsoos didn't help either. Why not xin zhao top? Well currently we are in a tank meta with sion, maokai, ekko, and others tearing it up on top of the rift. Also the crit removal from warlords bloodlust removed phantom dancer xin zhao from being a better version of olaf. Bruiser xin zhao is also one of the worst top laners in the game (#46/48) because he needs attack speed and there are no attack speed items that give armor and mr. The argument against xin zhao adc is simply that he is melee so anyone gold + will kite him easily. Xin Zhao support is basically inconsistent alistar with a weaker ult and only a self heal. Therefore we can conclude xin zhao belongs mid.

Tp gives you gank potential as well as a free back. Ignite is nice to secure kills and exhaust works great against burst champs.

If you you want to back because you just got a kill or you have a lot of gold, use the w ability to push out the wave. If you accidentally hit too early and the minion is almost dead, use q to finish him. Never use e to farm because it costs 60 mana and does the least damage.

Tp is the default for xin zhao because it opens up ganking opportunities as well as giving you a free back if you mess up or die. Exhaust is great against bursty champs as well as for sticking close to the enemy. Ignite secures kills. Heal is pointless and not a good idea. Cleanse against a ryze or anivia maybe.

It's 30 minutes in and you're in a close match. Fighting for a baron you make the initiation. Jump on their carry and ult everyone away, proceed to kill carry and finish off the rest. Be sure to spam control 6 after every kill.
