Xin Zhao, the Viscero of Demacia:
Now many people have said to me that Xin Zhao is meant to go bottom and duo lane / solo lane if roamer is on your team. That is not true. Xin needs the free farm of top, as well as correctly placed wards will allow you to survive even without Ghost summoner spell. The Ignite/Exhaust is obviously for free First Blood. Mark my words, first blood is the game for you. You will need to rush HoG asap because of the turret diving benefits. Next comes the Black Cleaver. The choice is simple: Very good damage item chosen by many AD carries with skill.
Your choice of gameplay is to remember a few things:
1) Do not charge in until you have Q available (at level 2)
2) Never forget to pay attention to the number of enemy minions are present until around level 7 ~ 8
3) There are weaknesses to Xin Zhao, and a couple of those champions, if well played will screw you over regardless of how good you are (Ex: Swain (I know, hard to believe), Malzahar (by level 6) and Nunu (You will NEVER catch this guy, and jungler WILL gank you often)
This rune choice is simple: maximizing damage, survivability and first blood chance. With the additional 6.75 attack damage at level 1 and the +3 damage masteries, you start with 69 damage at level 1, and 72 at level 2, which is when you should start thinking about harassing. Additionally, the 13 base armor bonus from yellow allows you to survive minion waves as well as harass from champions like Jarvan's Q, Gangplank's Q, etc...
This item set is up there in my choices of top tier luxuries. I have played around 300 games with Xin, and have played him since he came out (yes, the "I'm as OP as Beta Twisted Fate") This build will make you relatively hard to kill as well as granting INSANE damage late game. Trust me, even you will be surprised by how fast people drop to their knees as you impale them to death. Randuin's Omen is a core item build for Armor / HP as well as Banshee's Veil for Magic Resistance/ HP. The rest is damage and outstanding pain.
Charge is by far the most effective skill Xin has in early game. Maxing it will allow very annoying harasses to the enemy soloer as well as good chasing capabilities. Three Talon Strike is next because the bonus damage granted scales well with Mid-Game Hp/Armor of the overall crowd against you. Finally, Battle Cry is last because it is an effective Late-Game spell with both active and passive benefits. Always get your Crescent Seep, obviously, when available.
Not much to say, great for first blood but poor for escape, and the answer to that trivia is wards and map awareness. Remember to try to stay near your turret and to go back to base as soon as you have 900 ~ 975 gold, as you can get 1 ~ 2 wards along with a much needed Heart of Gold !
