Xin Zhao Build
Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
In my many months of playing LoL, one champion has stood out amongst all others, this is Xin Zhao: The Seneschal of Demacia! Xin is a melee dps. His damage output is enormous, attack speed brutally quick and a great initiator. From laning with a partner to chasing that elusive gank through the jungle, Xin is a capable champ and very fun to play.
Xin plays very well with a slow or stun, but this isn't necessary, only helpful. This build is very fragile, it focuses on killing an opponent before they kill you first. Your main targets should be a lone opponent, but with a good team you'll be getting pentakills in no time!
Huge damage output
Passive heals as you fight
When fed he can almost 2 hit some champs
Quick as a bullet
Has a slow and knock up
Focused when fed
Initiators are always first targeted during teamfights
Needs a lot of gold for this build, therefore must be fed
Exhaust & Flash
Exhaust and Flash are great tools for both escaping a gank and striking down an enemy. Xin is already a great initiator with Audacious Charge, Flash and Exhaust compliment this further and provide great synergy. Simply charge in, start the fight and if the enemy tries to get away (trust me, they will), Exhaust them and continue. If the enemy try to Flash away, Flash after them then use Exhaust! Congratulations, You have slain an enemy!
My masteries are in utility, not a popular choice for a dps champ. However, I believe Xin's itemization is enough to provide him with the damage output needed to get kills, and many Offense masteries don't provide enough boosts. The utility tree however, provide massive advanteges to any champ. 15% cooldown reduction on summoner spells? Yes please!
I take flat Armor Pen quints Greater Quintessence of Desolation, flat damage marks Greater Mark of Attack Damage , flat damage Seals Greater Seal of Attack Damage and flat cooldown glyphs Greater Seal of Cooldown Reduction. Many people will wonder why I dont use per level runes, but there is reason behind this madness. Xin is very strong early game and these runes help him become a powerhouse. He snowballs well, and enemies run in terror of a fed Xin Zhao.
I grab all the cliché physical damage items, and they're cliché for a reason: They work well.
- Berserker's Greaves for movement and AS
-2x Phantom Dancer for everything Xin Zhao needs, AS, Crit Chance and Movement Speed...swap one of these for a Madred's Bloodrazor to counter tanks.
- Infinity Edge gives extra dps and helps your crits do insane damage.
- The Bloodthirster helps your survivability, as well as extra damage.
- The Black Cleaver the Armor Pen of this item will tear through squishies and you guessed it, more AS and AD...is interchangeable with Last Whisper for more heavily armored teams
I'm not gonna go to in depth into the items, but with them you'll rape. If you're not doing so well feel free to grab a Warmog's Armor and Atma's Impaler, giving you more survivability and some extra damage. With this build you can solo Baron end game with careful use of skills :D
Xin Zhao is a great initiator, and your team will look to you to start a fight. Flash helps here also, as once initiated with Audacious Charge , you're gonna be targeted by the entire enemy team. As you see your team charge in behind you, Crescent Sweep the enemy team, then retreat using Flash. It's ok to Flash behind them if you're taking too much damage. This build makes Xin like a Glass Cannon so you gotta watch your health constantly.
Take Three Talon Strike first, it's knock-up combined with Exhaust makes for a quick first blood. After that grab Audacious Charge for closing the gap between you and the enemy. Then Max Battle Cry first. Why I hear you ask? Three Talon Strike has knock-up, Audacious Charge is a gap closer, however, Xin is a King of "Right Click to Win" meaning his auto attacks do the most of his damage. Therefore the bonus attack speed with Battle Cry really helps with ganks.
Thanks for reading my build, and please try it before voting :D Constuctive critisism is always welcome :) Also don't forget to get some fresh air and sunshine between games ^^ Good Luck and Have Fun
