*please comment on the build and let me know what you think. And please do not criticize the build unless you have tried it out. Questions and opinions are much appreciated. Thank you*. I KNOW THIS BUILD IS DIFFERENT THAN OTHER XIN BUILDS, BUT TRY IT OUT, IT WORKS INCREDIBLY WELL. Feel free to change items order to fit your needs in different games, but i would keep the same item set regardless. Xin is a crazy burst champ that deals nonstop damage and is great in team fights. His 1v1 skill is also very strong. Ill go over the order that you should use his skills and why, and explain my reasoning on all things in the build.I finally figured out how to put pictures and stuff in the text, so i recently did that. I also put some match history with xin at the bottom of the screen, so take a look at some of my games played using this build.

My runes are very simple. Attack speed Greater Mark of Attack Speed, Greater Seal of Attack Speed, Greater Glyph of Attack Speed, Greater Quintessence of Attack Speed and armor penetration greater mark of desolation, greater quintessence of desolation because those are 2 very important attributes of xin. I dont go for attack damage because that gets taken care of in the build and attack speed is what your lacking until later game.

Masteries are also fairly simple. Max out offense to maximize your damage output, and get a small amount of utility to increase regen and exp. gain. You could use the defense in place of utilities if you feel its necessary, since this is a tanky dps build, but i prefer utility for the extra gold and exp.

As with every other build that i have made, i use and because i feel most comfortable with it. If you prefer something else, than use something else, but they work wonders if used correctly. Just remember to use Exhaust on the hardest hitter in team fights. Alternatives to these summoner spells are Ignite and Flash, so use those if you think you would feel better with them.

My skill sequence is somewhat different than other peoples. Alot of people like to get Three Talon Strike first, but in most cases at lvl 1 you dont even have enough time to get 3 hits in on people to knock them up before they are at the tower. Thats why i get , it deals quick damage and slows, which makes for a better combo at lvl 2 with . The slow is simply more effective at lvl 1 than [three talon strike]. And it doesnt take long to get to lvl 2. is 3rd on the list to increase your attack speed and decrease your cooldowns on your bursts. should have a point put into it everytime its available, just like any other ult.

This is very important with xin. Pushing in the lane is not always the smartest idea. Try to last hit minions more often than not so that the enemy team can push on you and have a little farther to run when you decide to initiate them.

Pay attention here, seriously


Helps early game, nothing else to be said really. Really takes advantage of your passive early game to increase your hp when your low.


Keeps you in the lane longer, also self explanitory


Starting your tankiness. Adds a good amount of early game magic resist and tenacity. You should be able to purchase these your first trip back. If not, get the Boots before the Null-Magic Mantle.


Essential to your damage output and attack speed. Really helps in farming and taking down enemy champs, specifically tanks. Don't skip this item, regardless of what you think lol


Gives you a fair amount of damage with some hp that can keep you alive. If you feel you need more hp go ahead and get giants belt. The passive can help in chases but it isn't really that good until you get Frozen Mallet.


By this time you need the Health and its passive is ground breaking. The damage helps out more than you would expect too. Also a Must buy.


IF YOUR PLAYING AGAINST A MAJORITY AP TEAM GET Wit's End FIRST. Otherwise this one is first. Good damage increase and defense increase. Its a must for a tanky dps xin zhao.


Awesome increase in magic resist and damage, because of its passive. Also helps your attack speed. Get it. People used to always disagree with Wit's End on xin zhao, but fk them. This thing is awesome.


I used to have Warmog's Armor up here, which is a decent choice, but i realized in late game that more health isn't that beneficial. So then i tried out Zeke's Harbinger, which was also good but didn't suit me. I also tried Banshee's Veil which was great, but i wanted to give this a shot, and it worked out incredibly. always a good choice. other options are the ones listed above and Madred's Bloodrazor, Guardian Angel, Last Whisper

Xin zhao is a hard hitter, and good initiator BUT do not try to dive in without the tank being there first. You will usually die. He is an incredible 1v1 champ especially when Exhaust is utilized correctly. Also, take advantage of how hard he hits in early game lanes and get some easy kills, play aggresive but smart, and i can guarentee a good carry.
