Zed is a simple yet complicated champion, he is overpowered, at the same time, he is not. He is not difficult to pick up, and all you need to do good with Zed is knowing the play style.

Pros

High burst damage
High mobility
Strong mid-late game
Fun to play

Cons

High skillcap
Can roughly fall behind
Can be countered by abilitíes or items like zhounya, point-click CC

ABILITY LEVELING:

Just fkin do Q -> E -> W and R in level 6/11/16. There is nothing much to explain about this ****.-> -> ->

Runes:

You can go 9x Flat AD Red or 9x Lethality but I feel like the runes I use (in the top of this page) help me farms and poke efficently, that is just my opinion.
9x Flat MR Blue runes suit the best against mage, or you can go x6 CDR, however I don't recommend it because you gonna go max CDR with 3 core items Yomuus, Cleaver and Death Dance.

Mssteries:

I don't recommend anything else but these 2 best options:
This is the best one in my experience. High burst damage, that's all you need.
This one Faker used most of the time. If you feel like your damage is enough in most of the cases then take this, it has better escape chance; you can proc it every time you do the Zed's laning poke combo. However, it reduces the chance to one shot everyone with the W+E+Q so I take Thunderlord instead.

Farming: against range poke champ -> Q to farm/try not to trade CS for HP.
against melee champ -> farm with both melee + Q/use Q to poke whenever possible
Poke:
Main combo: W -> E -> Q. If you hit both Shuriken -> proc Thunderlord.

All-in:

[W]->[E]->[Q]->[W](->auto if >50%HP)->[R]->[E+auto] (most common combo)
[Yomuus?]->([R]->[W]->[E+auto]->[Q]) or ([R]->[E+auto]->[Q]
[W]->[W]->[R]->({E+auto]+[Q]?) (catch low target)
[W to another direction]->[R] then ([R back] or [W])->[E+Q]? (to outplay/rarely use)

Core items:
Always go this 2 first! If you have problems with CC, go for after Yomuus then continue building Cleaver.

Since you don't use CDR runes, 3rd item should be 1 of these 2 to maximize the using of Death Mark and to use your combos efficiently:


Death Dance is a better choice since its sustain is fkin hype, however if you are against fed AP bursty champs, Maw is a must.

2 final items should be Armor Pen items in most of the cases.

: Best 4th item for Zed now

Both of them are great to be final item on Zed if the enemies have at least 1 punchbag. Or else go for Draktharr of Duskblade.
