I am trying soemthing new with a 4 piece build that can be made cheap while providing what Yorick need, mana, health and attack damage...we will see...

Introduction

This is the first guide ive tried to write. It is a work in progress, *** is my Yorick playing. I feel with a good start, either from kills or farming, that Yorick becomes a beast. I have played Yorick since before the buff and did well with him. Now i feel he is strong enough early to do very well.

I will try to go as in depth as possible throughout this guide, using pictures and so on.

YORICK IS NOT OP AND NOT SUPER EASY TO PLAY. He is NOT the best Tanky DPS. He is a ton of fun however.

*SIDENOTE* Maybe your better than i am, but I NEVER solo a lane while someone jungles. Yorick is just to weak early to be successful at this.
I will try to explain what i do to the best of abilities, while i play games for ideas.

***YORICK THE MANA WH#$% ***

HOWDY! So ya like wh#$%'s do ya? NO! Not a MAN wh#$%! A MANA wh#$%.

I have one for ya here. Names Yorick. Now its true, Yorick is not the best, best looking and cost's the most but hell, you can make it a 5-some! Thats right! Give Yorick a ton of mana and he will party all night with 4 of his best friends....

My attempt at some humor...

OK. The way i play yorick spends a lot of mana. IM CONSTANTLY CASTING....BUT...ALL AT ONCE.
Let me elaborate. I think one thing ive seen so many sh***y Yoricks do is cast a spell....then cast another...then cast another...The ghouls die off before the bonus from the passive can stack together.
YOU NEED TO BURST THE S**T outta the 3 skills as fast as your fingers can do it!!! Then wait. Then burst all 3 again.

So i go in, and wait for champ to be in range. Coordinate with your lane partner when your both ready. Pop W(make sure hits target enemy) then as quickly as possible hit him with E, run at him while hitting Q and auto-attacking him.
IF YOUR NOT REALLY REALLY CLOSE TO A KILL BACK OFF WHEN GHOULS ARE ALL DEAD.
WAIT....
THEN WHEN ALL 3 SKILLS ARE READY AGAIN, DO IT AGAIN.

SKILLS

This is why I like Yorick so much, and im sure what attracts others. Each of Yoricks skills create a ghoul that will attack nearby enemys.


***SIDENOTE*** WHEN NEAR A TOWER AND CREATE A GHOUL IT WILL ATTACK A NEARBY CHAMP, CAUSING TURRET TO ATTACK YOU. BE CAREFUL.

Unholy Covenant (Passive): Yorick's basic attacks deal 5% more damage and Yorick take 5% less damage for each summon that is active. Meanwhile, Yorick's Ghouls have 35% of Yorick's Attacks Damange and Health.

* Yorick's passive is huge when played right. When attacking a tower you can cast them for increased damage. When attacking an enemy 20% increase in damage is a lot. This build finish's with over 300 damage. With 20% increase at 300 your looking at 360. Plus you have 3 ghouls doing 35% damage while your image does 100% of yours. Thats a lot of output.

Omen of War (Q): Yorick's next basic attack will deal 30/60/90/120/150 damage and summon ghoul. The ghoul deals 8/16/24/32/40 damage and moves faster. While alive Yorick moves 15/20/25/30/35% faster.

* I get the first level of this at level 3 then let it be. Im getting it for the ghoul and occationally the movement speed. Later in the game it hits hard. I find W and E more useful early though.

Omen of Pestilence (W): Yorick summons a ghoul that slows enemys for 20/25/30/35/40% for 1.5 seconds and does AOE damage for 60/95/130/165/200(+0.8 per bonus attack damamge).

* I get this at level 2 then build when I CAN NOT build E or R. When its maxed and your buff it hits hard and slows. I pop this then E as fast as possible when engaging an enemy. Along with Q when you catch them, plus ghouls attacking them, will do some real damage early. **Omen of Pestilence (W) if used correctly can stop an incoming nuke, stop a charging Rammus and slow groups of chasing or escaping champions**

Omen of Famine (E): Summon a ghoul that does 55/85/115/145/175(+1.0 per bonus attack damage) and heals Yorick for up to 50%. The attacking ghoul heals Yorick for the damage it does.

* This ability with this build does so much healing. Early game use E for harass and farming. Its great for last hits.....Read below a little more about it.

Omen of Death (R): Create a revenant in the image of Yorick or an allies that has 50/75/100% of their max attack damage and health for 10 seconds. If the ally dies while the revenant is alive, the revenant sacrifices itself to reanimate the ally, restoring them to full health to give them time to enact REVENGE!

* I use this in 1v1 fights along with all 3 of the other ghouls to really stomp the sh** outta someone. Cast this on Xin or Tryn or Yi. Anyone with a ton of attack damage. I do not use this to save people because it doesnt save them, you still die. Use it for what it is, an extra person.

CONS:

BAD EARLY GAME MAKES FOR BAD GAME
PEOPLE WILL NOT RESPECT YOU UNTIL YOU PROVE YOURSELF WITH HIM
VERY ITEM DEPENDENT
VERY TEAM DEPENDENT
MINIONS DIE FAST(not so fast that you passive is garbage however)
ONLY CC IS A AOE SLOW

Core Items

****Most games will end while you are working on 5th item.****




MANAMUNE: The core's core. This items helps with mana issues as well as giving Yorick attack damage. In the end it will give you 1350 mana, 7mana per 5 seconds and roughly 80 attack damage.

Mercury's Treads: I made the changes to the boots because Yorick has no escape mechanism except a slow.

Warmog's Armor: Yorick needs 3 things:
1. MANA
2. Health
3. Attack power
With Atma's this will give you a bonus 60 attack damage and 1300+ health, beastly with everything else.

Atma's Impaler: I love this item on Yorick. Atma's Impaler and Warmogs go hand in hand. With Atma's passive and all the other health you will have a ton of attack power.

*** Mobafire has attack damage at 170+ its actually over 300 with Atma's and Manamunes passives.****



I always start with Meki Pendant because it allows early farming. As soon as i have another 605 gold i go back for Tear of the Goddess . If Im doing very well in the lane and farming A LOT then i will stay til i have enough for either tear+boots + or manamune .

With Manamune my goal is get that extra 1000 mana and inflict as much damage and get as many last hits as possible, AS FAST AS POSSIBLE.

I try to lane and with E and manamune until i can get giant's belt . After that i try to lane until i can pick up Warmog's Armor . At that point Im doing pretty good damage and can survive a ton of abuse(from your mom).

When I FINALLY get Atma's Impaler , Yorick can hit hard and Im virtually un-flippin-killable. Finish with both The Bloodthirster and Stark's Fervor

PLAYSTYLE

EARLY GAME- FARM FARM AND FARM SOME MORE


Use E for last hits and to heal. Use Q to last hit when close or to attack champ. Use W to harass, slow enemy for you and your partner to STOMP on, and last hit, in that order. I always try to make contact with enemy champ when using W.

MID GAME- MY TURN TO GET A KILL MAYBE?!?


As soon as you have Manamune youll be ready to farm and harass while not taking much damage.

IF YOUR COMMITTED TO ATTACKING AND NOT HARASSING W-R-E-Q-E-Q-W-E-Q-E-Q-W, is the sequence and so on.

BUT AS I SAID BEFORE, I FEEL ITS BEST TO WAIT UNTIL ALL SKILLS ARE READY BEFORE SPAMMING THEM AGAIN.

I slow with W before popping ulti , then get as close to enemy as possible to maximize those 10 seconds. then go through sequence while auto-attacking.

***YOU HAVE TO FEEL OUT THE OTHER TEAM**** If they are decent players and know how to play champs then dont 1v2 with Yorick, youll just make us Yorick lovers look bad. If the other team is underleveled, under built or just suck, then spam away and attack attack attack.

LATE GAME- THE BREAD AND BUTTER, THE BEE'S KNEE'S, REASON WE TAKE RIDICULE FOR PLAYING THIS CHAMPION....


Ah how i love Yoricks late game. He has so much health, 1v1 is an instant 2v1 in your favor with a copy that hits just as hard at level 3. With health from warmog's armor and Manamune and Atma's Impaler you have a ton of attack power. GET IN EVERY TEAM FIGHT IF YOU CAN. Your minions will get you so many last hits and you can add another champ for 10 seconds, sick. FARM when you can. This build is expensive so you will need a lot of kills, either from minions or champs.

AN EXTRA SOMETHING...

For anyone who cares and wants another dumb small piece of advice maybe you have thought of and maybe you have not....

***ATTACKING THE TOWER***



I have a specific strategy for attacking the tower. WHEN NO ENEMY CHAMPIONS ARE AROUND ill cast W for bonus damage. As soon an enemy minion is in range i quick cast E. I try to put out, and keep out, as many of my ghouls as possible for that extra damage. STOP ATTACKING AND CASTING when enemy champion returns. YOUR GHOULS WILL ATTACK THEM, TURRET WILL ATTACK YOU!
