Introduction

Hey Everybody!


I'm TonsOfFun and this is actually my first guide, so bear with me. I recently bought Yorick, the GraveDigger, and have had success in destroying the competition with my ghouls. I hope you enjoy the guide and give my build a shot! :)

Runes/Masteries

Runes:


Reds:

6 greater mark of desolation and 3 Greater Mark of Attack Damage, because this is just enough for 10 flat armor penetration and add some early game attack damage!

Seals:

9 Greater Seal of Armor for the ability to stay in top-lane longer during early game against a bruiser, such as Wukong, Riven, and Xin Zhao.

Glyphs:

9 Greater Glyph of Magic Resist for the ability to stay in top-lane longer during early game against a AP top, such as Akali, Fizz, and Kennen.

Quints:

3 Greater Quintessence of Attack Damage for early game attack damage!

Masteries:


21/9/0 over 9/21/0, because I prefer a more dangerous Yorick over the reduced damage of the defensive tree.

Summoner Spells


I take Exhaust over Ignite, because you have the damage to nuke the enemy champion and using Exhaust can save your life and/or secure a kill.


Although your Omen of Pestilence slows and hitting with your Omen of War speeds you up, taking Flash guarantees your escape in sketchy situations.

Core:




Situational:


Depending on your team composition and how you are doing, decides whether or not you should build as a "Bruiser" or a "Off-Tank".

Bruiser:


If you are ahead and your team composition already has a tank, build as a "Bruiser".



Off-Tank:


If you are behind and/or your team composition is lacking a tank, build as an "Off-Tank".

Skills


Your passive. Each one of your abilities (even Omen of Death) summons a ghoul. Through your passive, each ghoul reduces the damage you take by 5% and increase the damage of your basic attacks by 5%. So having all ghouls up at once gives you 15%-20% reduced damage taken and 15%-20% extra damage on your basic attacks. Each ghoul has 35% of your health and attack damage. So having the 3 ghouls from your basic abilities summoned, it is like you have a second Yorick with the 105% damage.


This is your main damage tool, but the only ability that requires you to be in melee range. I take it at level 3. 7, 8, 9, and 10 in order to deal the maximum amount of damage.


Your slowing tool. Take this at level 2, but max it last. This ability will do the least amount of damage, but is important for chasing and escaping.


This is your 2nd damage tool and sustain. Take this at level 1, 4, 5, 12, and 13 for early game harassment and sustain.


Your ultimate. Max out when you can at 6, 11, and 16.

Combos

Harassment:


Yorick is very capable of getting first blood in top-lane. Use Omen of Pestilence to slow the enemy and then Omen of Famine to harass from afar. Throw in a a basic attack or two if you are close enough.

Max Damage:


In order to ensure the maximum amount of damage and the use of all three of your abilities, open with Omen of Pestilence, then Omen of Famine, and follow up with Omen of War for "TONS OF DAMAGE"!

Ultimate:


This combo is the same as the "Max Damage" combo, but the difference is activating Omen of Death in order to deal more damage through the summoned revenant. Through your ultimate, if you die you will be resurrected for 10 seconds in order to secure kills, change the tide of a team-fight, and enact vengeance!

Exhaust and Flash:


Use Exhaust when you need the extra slow or the damage reduction on the enemy. If you combo Exhaust with Omen of Famine, you can go from very low health and losing to half health and winning.
Use Flash when you need to flash over a wall or just away for an escape. Flash can be used offensively to ensure a kill.

Gameplay

Early Game:


Focus on harassing the enemy champion and farming up minions with last hits. Try to force a fast kill, because Yorick is very powerful early game.

Mid Game:


Focus on killing the enemy champion, ganking other lanes, farming, and pushing the lane turret as fast as possible.

Late Game:


Team-Fight Phase. You should be a more-tanky champion than most of your team, so you have the ability to initiate with Omen of Pestilence and take a serious amount of damage during the team-fight while nuking enemy champions. Win the team-fights and destroy the enemy nexus!!!

Please try my build before bashing it's composition. I know the layout is very basic, but I feel like I addressed the factors that must be known by Yorick players.
