Hello! My name is ShoopZ and this is my first guide on mobafire! Yorick is a great champion for toplane with his sustain and potential damage. This is MY way of playing him and if you have any ideas/improvements that you find more reliable. Feel free to post a comment.

Yorick's first ability is Omen of War. It gives you movement speed if you hit a target when it's active. It also has a great AD-Scaling and is your main damage ability.

His next ability is Omen of Pestilence. It's Yorick's slow. It also is his only skillshot and his main harassment tool. (Combined with E)

Talking of E, it's called Omen of Famine. It gives him great sustain. And as said earlier, one of his harassment tool.

His ultimate. It's called Omen of Death. He targets an ally, summons a copie of the ally and if the ally dies. He respawns and the ghoul is killed. Then he can give vengeance to the person who killed him! (Damn i said ally much :P)

His passive is called Unholy Covenant. It gives him damage to his auto attacks as well as an damage reduction.

At first get Crystalline Flask It's a great item for any toplaner with mana. (Free Health/Mana potions) Also grab a Sight Ward and a Health Potion too.
Then, when you first go b, pick up a Tear of the Goddess. And boots if you have enough.
Then later in the game, what we call midgame! You should pick up a Manamune And try to build it into a Muramana Just spam your ghouls! Also finish your tier 2 boots and pick up a Frozen Mallet
Late game pick up Warmog's Armor. Get a Atma's Impaler. Be cause you have so much health from Warmogs and Frozen Mallet. Then last but not least Bloodthirster!! It's a good item on Yorick. In teamfights, you have the sustain of the year with your E and a Bloodthirster.

Then for the other viable items. Get them if you want to experiment a little or just really think they're better. Go with them :D

Pros:

[*] Great Sustain
[*] Harass
[*] Good pusher/Can farm easily
[*] Beats most toplaners

Cons:

[*] Can have some mana problems earlygame
[*] No escape mechanisms
[*] His ultimate must be used properly. (Can be wasted)

In a teamfight always use your Ultimate on your adc. The enemy team will probably focus him down. And when they're dead. (If they die). Your ultimate will resurrect them and they can keep fighting! A really powerful ultimate indeed! Your job is also to be in the middle of the fight and just tank it up. Focus the carrys and the teamfight is yours!

This was my build with Yorick. He's a great champion to play and a really good champion to have in a team.
