Introduction

Hi! This is my first time publishing a build and it's for the new champion Yorick the Gravedigger. He's tons of fun to play, especially the way i do it ;D hehe. He's also a pretty strong champion. So check out this build and try it out some time. It works very well for me :)

Pros/Cons

Pros:
    cool-looking
    good damage output
    self haste and a slow
    built-in lifesteal
bonk people on the head with a shovel :D!

Cons:
    pretty squishy early game
not the fastest base movement speed, although it doesnt matter too much with Q and W
not much i can say that's bad about him...

Summoner Spells

I use Ignite to help finish off enemies and possibly get a first blood, or to win 1v1's with other champs who have lifesteal. I also use Ghost as a way to chase a target, get to a team fight faster, or run like hell so I don't die.

Other spells you may want to use are flash, cleanse, and exhaust.

Runes

pretty much a standard melee dps rune page.
    Armor Pen marks.
Dodge % seals OR flat HP seals OR Armor seals
    Magic Resist glyphs.
Attack Damage OR flat HP quints.

Masteries

I go 21/8/1 grabbing the upgrade to ghost while focusing on offense and having a bit of defense to improve survivability.

Other good masteries: 21/0/9, 9/0/21, or whatever you think is best for how you play

Items

start off with a long sword so you deal a great amount of damage early game, making it easier to farm or get kills, and a health pot to help you stay in lane longer and keep farming.

Your first time back at the shop you should be able to afford a tear of the goddess and some boots of speed. pick up a ward or two if you can afford it. Shouldn't need potions anymore since you have lifesteal with E.

Next, finish up manamune and get some boots of your preference. i usually go with boots of swiftness, but other useful boots could be berserker's greaves for more dps/lifesteal, or mercury's treads if you feel the enemy team will try to CC you a lot. manamune or even tear of the goddess should make any mana problems you may have had disappear and give you the freedom to spam your skills as you wish

after that rush to build a Frozen Mallet. you will most likely end up buying a phage first. Once you have Frozen Mallet in hand, combined with ghost, the speed boost from your Q, and slow from W, you should have no problems chasing enemy champs. assuming that their flash is on CD or they cant jump over walls and they aren't Jax or Master Yi.

Next get some lifesteal with vampiric sctyhe on your way to building bloodthirster, and then grab a spirit visage. shouldn't take too long, spirit visage is pretty cheap. then grab a zeal.

Finish up by building zeal into either a Phantom Dancer or Trinity

Other items that can be useful are:
Last whisper or youmuu's ghostblade = if the enemy team is stacking armor
Banshee's Veil or Guardian Angel = for better survivability

Skill Sequence

You usually want to start with Q, as it does a ton of damage and is a good harrassing/last hitting tool. get at least 2 points in E. 2 points should be enough lifesteal to keep you sustained for a while, unless you're getting focused pretty hard

Max Out First:
R->W->Q->E

Other Useful Info.

Yorick can deal a ton of dmg early game. as long as your enemy doesn't have exhaust you can usually beat em in a lvl 1 fight and get first blood.

try using Q immediately after an autoattack. Activating Q will attack immediately, essentially making it a double attack with bonus damage.

you can sometimes use E to poke at people before a team fight starts. just be careful always :)

If you need to chase someone and it looks like you won't be able to catch up. use Q on a minion to get that nice burst of speed. You can also do this to escape of your chaser is starting to close the gap.

W will likely be on cooldown the majority of the time. the usefulness of being able to slow the entire enemy team for a max of 5 seconds is just beautiful.

If you happen to actually finish the build before the game ends, go solo baron and end it lol. Trust me, you will be able to very easily by just spamming skills.
