Hey, just stopping by to say I like the build despite it being drastically different from mine. You have a lot of cool ideas here. My build arises out of practicality: I don't imagine I'd ever use CdR quints for any other champs and with only two rune pages, I usually buy runes I'm going to use on as many different champs as possible. I'd love to try the defensive tree out, but I kinda feel like losing the 4% cooldown from the O tree would hurt. Boy do I wish Philopher's Stone had CdR. :)

I do somewhat disagree with one of your choices in the utility tree though, specifically putting 3 pts in Good Hands. Normally I love this mastery on non-supports, but played intelligently supports just don't die enough to make this worthwhile for me. Check out your own match history - I think you only have one game where you died more than 3 times, and that one was an aberration where you died 10 times. If you ARE dying a lot and it's not because you're being focused constantly, chances are your team isn't doing particularly well and having reduced dead time on your part isn't gonna help all that much. I chose to put those points into Swiftness instead and removed the point from Enhanced Recall (just not a fan of that mastery).

+1!

Love this guide so much!!! I used to suck with Soraka, but I just followed this guide and I carry my entire team during team fights with my heals and silences :)

Awesome guide. I have been reading it and going back to it for reference since I started using Soraka and I have definitely seen a noticable improvement in my gameplay. I think this is definitely the character for me. Here are a few of my past games.

The way Soraka should be.

I won't deny that a highly AP-orientated Soraka *can* work, but I will say that being a full support can really make a difference (for the better) if the rest of your team is going to prefer doing the damage (which is most of the time). Incidentally, most people *expect* Soraka to be a defensive asset to the team; not a damage dealing killstealer. Not to mention, Soraka can't help anyone if she's DEAD; and by putting yourself at the frontline, you're making yourself an extreme target. So even if you have loads of AP, what are you going to do when they target you? Spam starcall and hope it saves you?

From a randomly queued co-op game:

It's what people want!

Ok, so that was a rant - but overall, great guide.

I also found that picking the correct aura items for your team is a great way to move forward; especially when complimenting and judging if your team is AP/AD heavy; who uses the most mana, etc.

You could also mention the change of Zeke's Herald(Stark's Fervor) to determine if it could be a viable option now, when in an AD heavy team (also helps you due to the CDR and HP) and also the Iron Solari, which can present another supportive role with its active.

I would also think that a section on who/what/when to use silence is important too - because it doesn't work all the time.

Champ roles I enjoy: I prefer support and AD carry, although do not mind jungling, and will AP mid/solotop if necessary. Have at least 3-4 of each role to be sufficient.

Pretty damn good! I really love it when someone shows some real dedication to making a support guide. I like how you went at least a bit in depth with the logic behind getting boots of mobility and armor marks. When i first saw i was a bit skeptical, but it did make sense overall. I do think you should add a section on the new Zeke's Herald (Dont know if that'll come out as the link to the item or not) since its now a bit more viable for supports to buy now.

I think giving a bit more instruction on how soraka should behave in team fights may be benificial. I play alot of janna, and with her you just want to shield the ad carry, tornade the enemie team, zephyr whoever you can, and ult when a teammate is in trouble. With soraka, im not sure if i should play her in the back of the party healing or in the front lines lowering the enemies magic resist. Regardless, +1.

Love the guide! Gave me a great intro into the world of support and a start to establishing my own build and love of Soraka. Keep it up :D
