Not Updated For Current Season
The masteries shown here are not yet updated for the current season, the guide author needs to set up the new masteries. As such, they will be different than the masteries you see in-game.
This guide will NOT go in-depth. I'm sharing my Zed Top build with everyone because it works really well.
The stats that Zed will have are higher than the ones shown above.
Pros / Cons
- High Burst Damage
- High Mobility
- Energy is great for harassment
- Weak CC
- Energy hungry early game
As Zed I like beginning with Boots of Speed and potions, because since energy is quick to regenerate you can continuously harass your opponent with W-Q and then E if possible and then chase in for the kill.
The Bloodthrister is great at increasing your damage, along with Ravenous Hydra which allows for a greater burst (Great ACTIVE).
Warmog's Armor or Frozen Mallet grant you higher health, and since you're melee, it is imperative to be able to take hits. Frozen Mallet gives you less HP but allows for easier kills with its slow. Pick one depending on the situation or both, if necessary and then complementing it with an Atma's Impaler.
Blade of the Ruined King, after the update that gave it the attack speed stat, is a great option on Zed. More life steal, damage and attack speed (And a badass ACTIVE) allow for a bigger damage output when your skills are on cooldown.
Guardian Angel gives you armor and magic resist, along with a revive but you can opt for a Thornmail to punish Ad carries for focusing you, allowing you to focus them more easily.
Exhaust: Really helpful to prevent escapes and reduce the damage output of enemy champions. Can also save your life or an ally's.
Flash Allows you to flash in for assassinations, escape fights, etc... Really helpful in my opinion
IgniteA great finisher or initiation if you're sure of yourself and can secure you a lot of kills, along with your ultimate
Smite Very useful for jungling. Don't bring it if you're not jungling as it won't be of any use.
Ghost I usually opt it out and bring Flash, although ghost has some advantages over Flash such as the steady and lasting speed increase which can be crucial on chases or escapes where Flash won't be of any use.
Surge I dislike it. It's not like you'll use the AP and the attack speed bonus is irrelevant when you're going to assassinate your targets with your skills, mainly.
Heal I don't feel like it's any good. We are playing an assassin, yet we are tanky with this build, we don't need heal. It can be of use early game, but damaging skills are more important.
Revive Don't. Just... don't
Teleport Pretty good to keep up with your laning opponent if you have to go back or die. I never bring it, though. I prefer Flash, ignite or exhaust.
Cleanse Useful for killing and escaping. Up to you.
Clarity Useless. Zed has no mana
Clairvoyance I'd leave it to the support to bring this spell.
