Threats to Zilean with this build
|Yasuo||His passive is the main problem. Auto first to break it, then zone him. If he ever engages on you, stun, kite backwards, slow him.|
|Talon||His poke level 2 is high, his all in level 4 kills nearly everyone. Dodge that E. Stun him whenever he even looks at you. Your ultimate counters his assassinations.|
Hi All! I am a Zilean Main! I love Zilean, with my heart and soul. He is such a high-damage, high-utility and amazing champion with such a good character design! His Q-W-Q can lead to a heavy unexpected nuke to the enemy team, having a huge base of 300(+90% AP) Magic Damage, as well as stunning the victims for 1.5 Seconds. I would like to wish everyone the best of Luck on the Fields of Justice!
Level Sorcery to increase damage from Zilean's Spells
Level Expose Weakness to optimise team fights and ganking.
I don't level Ferocity up to Opppressor/Bounty Hunter, despite the synergy for damage, or Piercing Thoughts, for the Magic Penetration, because I prefer the added utility from Resolve.
Wanderer is for roaming or getting back to lane after backing.
Secret Stash is FOR THE BISCUITS! I mean, for extra sustain.
Mana is the biggest issue early on, so I prefer Meditation over Merciless.
Of course, level Dangerous game for the clutch plays.
I prefer Precision over Intelligence, and it's because that extra 5% will only lower Zilean's Ultimate cooldown from 36 seconds to 33 seconds.
For optimum lane trading, level Thunderlord's Decree.
The power given up from not leveling the Ferocity tree now manifests itself as utility.
Leveling Recovery gives more sustain.
Leveling Explorer Increases roaming potential.
The Maths is above, but here is the reasoning.
Doran's ring and two Health Potions set you up for a decent early game.
Rushing The Lost Chapter, and another Doran's Ring further adds to your laning presence.
Upon Finishing your "Core Items", you have immense power and can easily roam. The rest of the items are self explanatory.
Q is normally levelled first, unless you co-ordinate an invade with your team, in which case, take E.
Assuming that you didn't invade, level W second. Level E third, for the utility, and max Q, of course putting points into your Ultimate (R) whenever possible. After maxing Q, scatter points between lowering the cooldown of W, and increasing the movement speed buff/debuff.
Flash is essential. No Arguements.
The second spell could be:
Barrier - A better safety net than Heal
Cleanse - Against CC heavy teams
Exhaust - To counter the enemy assassin
Heal - Gives health back, and a small movement speed buff.
Ignite - For more kill potential
Pros / Cons
Pros - Everything in his kit is simple to understand
- High Bases
- High Ap scaling (90%)
- Free Guardian's Angel
- Leona Ultimate on a 5 Second cooldown
- Insanely high movement speed buff/debuff
Cons - High mana costs
Constantly stay with your team, always get into a habit of spamming E on allies for free assists. Stun anyone who gets close. Make sure your carry doesn't die.
A well-known fact, if you cast two Q's on a minion and it dies, both instances of damage are applied. Especially fun if you are vs'ing a melee champion.
Do you REALLY want this minion?
Also, baiting your enemies to towerdive or to aim you is so funny, and extremely satisfying.
Be sure to ALWAYS BM by laughing and using the mastery emote.
Your Q-W-Q is for quick waveclear.
The standard rule for cs'ing under turret, is that 2 tower hits plus 1 AA will kill a Melee minion, and AA + Turret hit + AA will kill a Caster minion.
You know how Alistar has a Malphite Ultimate on a an 8 second cooldown? As mentioned earlier, Zilean has a Leona ultimate on a 5 second cooldown. And he has a free GA every 36 seconds. Anyways, overall, I consider Zilean to be the most amazing champion <3
