Comparing the two builds.

If you chose the first build you will get a lot of health,some mana,ability power and of course defense.So if you want a mage that wont get outnumbered and killed every time you go to attack this is for you.But if you want a champion that can deal a lot of damage and kill but in which case you need to work with your team so they protect you the second build is for you.

Runes.

I decided for these runes because you get good ability power at level 18 and you get either magic resistance and armor or Health and you can deal almost true damage in early game which is very useful. Possible alternatives could be a bit more defensive or offensive runes. Also i didn't want to chose runes that cost so much that it's not worth it anymore. But if you do have some extra IP that you dont need you could take spell vamp quintessences.

Masteries

For masteries I chose 21/9/0 and 22/0/8. From these masteries you can get either defense and ability power or ability power and mana.

Items!

From my items you get a lot of mana and ability power on which everything I chose focuses. You will get most of your defense and health from your items.

Pros/Cons

Zyra has a few pros that would have to be:
-she is very strong in late game
-she can save her team/herself in from a fight they cant win
-good range
-easy to push and freeze lane with(you just set up a few plants behind the enemies minions)
-She can ward with her little seeds for which she doesn't even pay any mana
Zyra has a few cons too:
-As all mages she is very squishy
-her plants dont have much damage until she reaches a high level
-doesn't have any good escape abilities except her so called stun and ulti

Skill Sequence

The skills for the first build I chose because It gives you the ability to spam abilities because of the cool down reduction and the items that give mana because in the end of the game you have about 39% cool down reduction or more if you have runes for cool down reduction.But since abilities cost quite some mana and they have a cool down of about 3-7 seconds not sure how much exactly I came up with this second build for Zyra. This build gives 1350 MANA which should let you just go into a battle and either save your team mates,kill some enemies or just assist your team in getting kills.

Team work

With Zyra you can set up kills for your team or just help someone escape. How you do this is just open up with your E abilitie that stuns your enemies then place 2 seeds and use your Q on them so that they deal damage and right after that you can use your Ultimate. That should ensure a fast kill for your team. Also with the cool down reduction you can easily stun your enemies a second time. And use another plant if you need it. But be careful not to run out of mana.

Jungling/creeping

Zyra isn't a jungler but in higher levels you can place 3-4 seeds and grow them into ranged plants then just basic attack the natural creeps. If your on a lane that is not mid i would say that it's smart to place ranged plants to help you get the creeps without having to just to last hit. If you do this you should be able to push your lane VERY fast.
