and by the way. It its hard dependant to the champ you face in mid. Catalyst first is great for farming because u can stay longer on the lane. If you really get a tear of the goddess against a leblanc first you're just dumb.

there are many champs out there that can kill ryze much faster then ryze can kill them early.

use ur brain please before u write such dumb **** and give negative votings...

I like your guide!!!
It's exactly how I play and I have great results!! The only difference is that I use movement speed quintessences.
You have my vote then!!!

Something to consider:
Now that they changed , you can try using 8 points in offense neglecting and 22 in utility, not picking and , so as to assign 3 points in . It gives brutal health regen from early on. In addition, in offense, instead of picking 4 ap with , you can assign 1 point in , 1 point in and 2 points in buthcer. It really helps you farm!(+5 dmg every last hit to minions)

Also for last item, have you ever tried ? Dat slow is scary combined with some HP. is good too.

Thanks for the great answer into my question. I believe that there are too kind of playing styles for Morgana, tanky-caster and mass-ap -caster, and in my opinion those both are viable. This is one of the rare guides for full caster and it's well made.

Thanks, the formatting took quite some time./ Your whole team benefits from Abyssal, not just yourself. I simply see it as a more viable MR option since you don't really need BV because of your spellshield. Also you're typically in the perfect place to help your team out with Abyssal positioning.

Haven't ever tried building Zhonya's first, will take into notice.

It's an OK idea but move speed is just too OP on Cho. It's like an essential must have stat.

I don't play Cho'Gath and I just realized those are only good for gap closing tanks like Amumu, Leona (slow in the jungle but she has amazing ganks). ;p

You never mentioned Trundle in your Cho'Gath guide when you talked about the strong current junglers. Do you not consider him in that group anymore since the new Jungle?

And is it as important for Trundle to get an item like HoG fairly early (like getting it before Frozen Mallet even though you only build it into Randuins Omen after the Fro-Mal)?

No, use your judgement and whatnot. I just wanted to offer a build path with very high MR and a build path with very high armor. As a tanky guy, item paths are generally interchangeable.

Given that you entered 5 different mastery paths, what is the default point distribution you currently use?

In which situations is it better to follow-up Fro-Mal with build 3 (Aegis, Banshee's Veil, FoN) and when with build 4 (Randuins Omen, BloodRazor, Frozen Heart)?
Is it ok to exchange e.g. Aegis for RO in build 4 or is it clearly superior to follow-up Aegis with Banshee's and Omen with Bloodrazor?

Interesting thoughts. Wit's end is -ok- on Trundle, and pairs well with Mallet. You can buy it if the match calls for it, but he does scales fairly well with Crit and Wit's offers none o:

Youmuu's is a very under estimated Trundle item, but it offers zero defense.

I really prefer a very tanky utility and objective securing trundle. A build like Wriggle's / Merc / Fro-mal and Aegis is just so damn good, and a Madred's end game usually lets you beat people up to boot O:

Basically, your item suggestions are good, perhaps situational picks, but I personally feel there are better "Bread and butter" builds.

Boots 3 Pots allows a LOT of mobility early on, which allows you to avoid jungler ganks, avoid enemy harass, and chase enemies a lot easier in lane. It also provides a lot more potential sustain then Doran's Blade does against a laner that you don't know about.

Health Regen quints do work on any solo-top champion, but you generally never should get it on a champion who can already do well in his lane. That's just getting something extra that you don't need. Doran's + health regen would work, but to be honest, that's not ever going to be necessary. When you're ever going to buy a Doran's, you should know that you're going to **** on your lane. If you don't, just get boots 3 or cloth 5.

@Up Well, 3 spellvamp runes are also 6150 IP, so they're kinda bad idea if u don't play some AD casters/spellvamp depentant ap casters or something like that ;p.

I been doing some tests recently on what I been calling "sub optimal" setups.
It has always been my mission to find the best way to do things but some people want to try things out without buying life steal quints. I think best thing for people without this type of setup is to go cloth 5 with bladed armor. It is a bit slower and not as flexible as the build I listed but still has a lot you can work with.

Cloth 5 with some variant of the 4th jungle path in the video I have up should be nice for your purpose. It kind of makes you want to rush but in all honesty the item is pretty good on Twitch.

Anivia is my best(and only) ap-carry.
I question why u don't like a Combined with a rod, it gives u SOOOO MUCH AP, and the early tear will keep u from going oom that 1-2 minute where u're not gonna have blue. I play a crazily aggressive anivia(both pre and post 6) so i like to be able to putting down some hurt even if i don't have blue.

U forgot the "Push->Wraiths->Push->Wraiths" strategy against dangerous laners.

Might also wanna mention Double/Triple ->Deathcap?

Nonetheless.. U cover most aspects of

I disagree on getting Sapphire crystal first. The only positive effect would be more mana + rushing catalyst.. If the problem is mana, why not go dorans? It even gets you regen and Ap+ health.

You are blind about a fact, and I hope you will read this comment again to get another view on it.

"Boots + 3 pots" - It will help you gain sustain in the lane, which will mean that you can remain in the lane for a longer amount of time, you dont need that extra mana on Anivia early game, she's fine on mana till lvl 6 where she often gets blue. The pots will help her sustain in the lane for a good period of time, and the boots will help you escape/chase, change damage instead of getting kited, it also aids you in kiting the enemy. Anivia is extremly slow which means she can easily be hitten by skill shots. For example brands W, it would be quite difficult to dodge without shoes, and without pots as well you would have to recall in a matter of seconds.

Boots are superior to sapphire crystal in so many ways. (Did you drop a vote?)

I think usuing a sapphire crystal for the first tiem would be better because she needs the early mana more and you can rush that catalyst more effectively so u can stay in lane for longer periods and be stronger faster

This is a good guide. I came here looking for any additional information I might want. I've had flawless victories with fizz maxing E first. The damage and slow let me land my other abilities easily, and I am able to kill the enemy without diving too far into the tower. The CDR gained by maxing E first has saved me countless times, due to me being an aggressive player with fizz. Everytime the enemy AP mid tries to harr*** me(most AP mids use skill shot AoEs or line skillshots), I activate W then Q them if its an AoE skillshot or I E to them if its a line skill shot. The E landing takes out 25%-33% of their hp and i use the other to get away safely, (especially from those pesky junglers who wait for you to engage their teammate). One such example was that I E'd into viktor to dodge his harr*** Q. I used W+Q and then backed away. My E pushed the lane a bit, but as it was time for me to back up with half hp, an udyr popped from the side brush and I was able to playful over him before his stun, then trickster over the small wall next to the brush. By maxing E first, you maximize survivability. THe +50 damage/lvl and huge 60% slow at lvl 5, plus it having the highest AP ratio, ensure you don't lose a lot of DPS from not maxing your W. HOWEVER. I will see how I do by maxing W first.

I do have one thought though. You may want to consider the viability of Glyphs of Force (0.17 AP/lvl) over Glyphs of Potency. They are one of the few runes where getting the bonus/lvl become better than the flat bonus very quickly. I use them on tons of my champs and find that it extends the strength of my early game into mid-game ... and then helps with more AP boost once I get Rabadons.

i dont think this guide is great.

i try to use it, like it say by getting boots first but IMO, doran's ring is better for the extra health and regen AND ap right off.

I like the build but generally find Fizz to be an awful farmer (not quite as bad if I go the hybrid AP/AS route). One thing I wanted to point out is that your E does not make you invulnerable to ALL abilities. Strangely enough, Cass's ultimate can and will hit you while others (like Karthus' ult) will not. It was rather odd that one time when I jumped on my trident only to be turned into stone WHILE ON TOP OF THE TRIDENT! If you go blind pick and get a mirror, you can use it to dodge an enemy if you time your jump properly.

@Lethadind: yes you can dodge Cait's with your E and I have done so many times.

= 1090.107 Damage on the Ravage alone. Now I know there is resistances to count in but I'll get onto that in a minute.
Now the Lich Bane Auto Attack,
770.107 ap + 147 ad = 917.107 Damage.
Okay now that is everything you have got from just those two,
the total damage from that is = 2007.214 Damage.
Now with the resistances, the damage would be more like maybe 1500 damage? Now, auto attack them a few times, spamming for your life hate spike, they will be dead, and rather fast.
Now that is at level 18, full stacks, all that stuff, hey that might hurt? Oh and lastly, there is magic penetration 18% from masteries and runes, then the reduction from the ravage, 22 magic and armor pen, + 10 armor pen from masteries, the damage goes back up to about 1800 damage-ish depending on the champion, that's a lot.

Also Eve is not a 1v1 champion, with both of you at full hp, she is a ganking stealth *****, which means killing people will be done with teammates. Add in the damage they do when I'm about lvl 8?
okay, so I've got the about 255 base damage on my e, plus say 130 ap if I've got a couple stacks on mejai's, my lich, and my runes? that's 400 hundred damage right there, then about 220 damage on my auto attack? that's 620 damage, with resistances more like 550, with pen, 580, now they would be on lower hp then full because that's the ones I usually gank first, now put in the hate spikes with the ap, and the damage your ally is doing, they are dead and deader. I'll put up a vid focusing on it soon and I think I'll actually add the maths to the guide =D

Most Talon guides are exactly the same as each other, telling you to get and max first. This guide goes against those by saying is a bad pick for Talon and that maxing first is better than maxing . It's only natural some people would immediately vote this down on sight when they see I don't take without bothering to read my argument for not taking it. 70% now anyway, thanks.

I urge you to read my argument for not taking Trinity Force which has a chapter for itself in my guide. As for the movement speed, 's active already gives you enough MS, especially when combined with your ult, you'll have 60% increased MS, and honestly, with the exclusion of Trinity Force, it's the only other viable item to take with MS. What else would you take, Force of Nature? Phantom Dancer? Both unviable on Talon, as you probably know.

he greater mark of alacrity is a better choice in my opinion. Remember attack speed helps your ki strike proc, and when ki strike procs you regain energi. So alacrity runes are actually like two runes for one :)
For the surge thing i said for the carries. Surge works on all types of carries since it gives AS and AP.
Guardians angel is a viable choice, however when i buy one in my games, people tend to not focus me. If im just gonna revive rigth after i die, people would rather focus you last.

i do think greater mark of insight should be considered as you shouldn't be constantly attacking all the time with alacrity. i think maybe you should edit the fact on surge as it should be for HYBRID carries and not just the simple carry.

for your items you should also consider guardian angel :D

@just a random: I now rewrote my thornail part. Instead of sunfire cape i would recommend another Warmog's Armor. Overall a second Warmog's armor gives more damage than sunfire cape.

Nice Guide, also used to play Shen before patch and now he's just great.
I really like Wit's End on Shen now, suppose getting Sunfire Cape instead of Thornmail - if their carries aren't fed - could make you even a bigger threat.

Alright I played a game with your build and I have so many problems with it, sorry to tell you.

You go: Sorc shoes - Gunblade - WotA - Rylai - Abyssal - Rabadon

Now I go: Sorc shoes - Gunblade - Rabadon - Zhonya - Void

So in the beginning I did great, I had kills, DMG and stuff cuz Gunblade is awesome starting item and then I got WotA, which wasn't that bad, but I noticed your build has the SAME lifesteal as my build. Let me explain why it happened so, I get Rabadon, which gives me more DMG, so as I have more DMG to deal I steal more life, and with your build here, I stole same life while doing less DMG which I think is not really productive, and real problems came in with Rylai cuz I DID turn into support.

Let me just make clear here, by the time you get Abyssal, you have same DMG as by the time I get Rabadon. Now your build has all around slow from Rylai and protection from Abyssal, I liked the protection, but I found HP kinda..I didn't really like it because that extra 500 HP is one crit from Ashe because you add yourself hardly any armor. As for all around slow it was USELESS because no one ran from my DMG since in the late game it fell off so hard it was kinda the same DMG I have around lvl 13-15 with my build, except now I was 40 mins in the game.

And I didn't even make it to get Rabadon, I got positive score early on and I just died a lot late game and ended up loosing the game and not carrying but slowing instead, sorry but that's how it went for me :/

Well spellvamp is nice, yet getting Rylai that late and pushing off Rabadon normally would cost you a lot of DMG, yet I won't judge until I try I guess, I go do it right off.

But, you should go watch mine, i dont say that my build is better than yours, but i want you to have a look on my build. Mine is not as full of information as yours (cuz it wasn't necessary, you guys already made a perfect one hehe), but i'm telling you that Spell Vamp is the best way to build her. And when you spoke about Rylai's, i loled (sry to say that hehe) cuz it gives you the HP you need later and it slow enemys when you ult (=more dmg). My Build is : --->Sorcerer Shoes, Revolver(i take rank 2 boots before the Revolver because +20 magic pen. and movement speed is better than only +40 AP and 15% spell vamp for the first item; at this point of the game, from what im thinking. (Screen shot made today of my Match History at the end of my build)), Gunblade, Will of the Ancients, Rylai's, etc. These items are normally what you need to have a win without any other items. I played with her and won about more than 10 games yet, when i could play her, without failing any games.

I will be very happy if you could try my build hehe and tell something about it :D
