Being in D1, do you still actually gain LP for a win? I remember watching a video of phantoml0rd winning a ranked game, being at 99 LP D1, and getting +0 LP for his win. I'm hoping games aren't that rough

The reasoning behind that, is because in order to go past D1 and get into challenger, you need to have a higher MMR than the last guy who can get pushed out of Challenger. So what ends up happening is that you just keep grinding at 99 lp (you wont lose points if you have more wins stacked than losses) until it says you hit challenger promos (saying you have a higher MMR, now you just need to win these promos) and bam you get in, but I'm pretty sure the decay is only like a week and even then, you can get pushed out by other people, so you gotta grind up points in order to get a decent enough standing to not get pushed out.

Correct except you DO lose LP at 99. Its pretty ******** lol.
