malphite is BY far ur best choice, u can buy him with IP, and when i started playing i never BOUGHT RP! haha but do me a favor bro. think about saving up for RENEKTON or getting the RP to buy him. Jarvan is great and all, and you should play who you enjoy when you first start. I mained Malphite for a long time when i first started...but when i bought renekton....Nuff said. lets face it everyone...he IS the KING of solo top...dnt care about ur opinion srry..:( its a statistical fact that renekton is the most well balanced and reliable solo top in the game.

Renekton is chosen for his ridic early game, but he does fall off lategame since his scalings are a bit off.

If you for some reason want to follow my ranked journey to gold, you can do it Here.

I am against asking for rep, only rep me if you think I contributed well or said something wise.

Akali is a mad fun solotop to play, and is pretty easy. She kinda needs to have her own designated rune page, though. If by beginner, you mean <level 20, I suggest either saving up for her rune page & her IP cost, or just buying a different solotop champion like Volibear.

Now that i think about it, Volibear is a pretty damn fun solotop. You can abuse his passive so well.

If i helped you out, be sure to throw me a +Rep!

Shen/Cho/Malph are OK tops to begin with.
Regarding Morde - he is viable, but more for mid to take additional creep camps as he is unstoppable aoe farmer.

vlad is king of solo imo with his transfusion damaging and healing him and it becomes spawnable once u lvl it up to lvl 5. he also has sanguine pool to escape most ganks. lets not forget tides of blood+health pot, heal or transfusion increases his laning compacity.

Top lane he is not.

Mid lane he is.

Didn't read the thread, but my humble opinion is Irelia. CC reduction, so if you have poor map awareness and get ganked, you have a better chance of escaping. She has a nice CC, can clear the wave with her ult and passive life steal (even off towers). She has a gap closer and she's innately tanky. She's a good farmer too.

Kayle beats all the above stated champions with ease.
