 Garen is actually really underated. No mana and passive gives infinite healing. Pretty much csn out sustain anyone.

Everyone has a counter, but I think  Yorick and  Warwick definitely belong up there.

Garen Riven Yorick Renekton I'd put Vayne up there for a sixth if we needed one. I think Kayle has the best matchups, though. |

 Kennen - Flexible and still has a ridiculous early game with lots of CC for later fights. Kayle - Pretty much demolishes the regular solo top picks and has great utility and damage. Riven - Wins a lot of matchups, snowballs hard and has a really dangerous early game. Yorick - Wins or stalemates almost every matchup as far as I know. Shen - Doesn't win every lane (though he's quite strong), but provides amazing map presence regardless. Jax,  Vladimir and others are also strong, but generally more situational. If I had to name a 6th it would probably be Jax or  Udyr.
