Dominion wasn't a horrible idea, though I never play Dominion seriously. It is good for being fast paced, that's about it. I seriously win almost every game single-handedly with nothing but stacking Zeal on Evelynn, then upgrade to PD. That movement speed lets you capture exponentially faster than they can react.

Twisted Treeline was not bad either. I used to play it because I thought that 5v5 often got completely out of control, and I started getting really annoyed at having no choice but relying on a much larger team. 3v3 lets me play without worrying about others too much, though it is so much easier to fight 1v3 and dominate. Some champions are so off-balance on TT. I have won so many 2v3 it's not even funny.

Then we have Summoner's Rift, the classic. All the champions are created and balanced to play on this alongside 4 champions and against 5 champions. A big reason it still goes so well is because the balance. There have always been chances to come back from a little down time. I think this is where team work really shines. It's extremely difficult to win a game by yourself. It is large enough that you can't cover everything and defend by yourself. That is a great thing, but often hurts just as much as it helps. You have to rely on people, something I really don't like to do (if I don't know them).

The spam of champions starts to seem a little desperate. Maybe they should fix some champions too (such as Evelynn and that stun...please). I like that they put some focus on a new map/game mode. I would very much like to try it out. Maybe they will use my arena mode idea. :P

Incidentally to everyone discussing player numbers, I read a post from Morello a while back where he basically said there was zero chance of Riot ever making a map that wasn't 5v5 again.

I could understand why. There is no way to continue balancing champions if there are consistently completely different damage/number combinations. That is only if SR continues to be by far the most played map... (rhetorical statement)

which is what i brought up. the game is balanced for 5v5 gameplay, as we've seen from twisted treelines 3v3.

They shouldn't do anything other than 5v5 for new maps, but they could potentially balance TT with its own set of creeps and a map buff like they have on dominion.

No one needs a lame Map called Supremacy.

If LoL had a replay feature, it could actually be taken seriously as an e-sport.

Tri lane for life.

That's what, 520 MS? 580 once you factor in eve ult steroid? Just pick nunu and build rylais/hextech sweeper and you can't stealth, much less run from him. In general, backcapping as a strat sucks if your opponents actually pick something that can kill you for trying (read: anything with a fromal). (POOTERSS zilean nonwithstanding, i only hear it works if you're really really good at it)

Yeah, I'm pretty useless when it comes to fighting, but I'm a really really good distraction and taking advantage of people being even remotely out of position.

Evelynn is also by far the best bait in the game (next to Teemo). People see you and think "oh, what an easy kill." Chase for all of three seconds and get annihilated. That's all it takes.
