I have read a discussion on Yorick being extremely powerful as a solo top. Why is he in the bottom of tier 3 then?

He lacks the raw power, utility and tankiness of other top lane champs. While he's basically unmoveable in lane, his team fighting prowess is not on the same level as other champs. His basic use is to ult the AD carry and smack things around while providing a spammable slow. Champs like Wukong offer more damage and utility (armor reduction, AoE knock-up), team fight presence (Nasus, Kennen), etc.
tl;dr: Yorick can be beastly, but in comparison to other champs, he's just a little underwhelming. |

Yorick is quite simply very team reliant. He wins lanes and then from there depends heavily on his team.

Duff essentially summed up why hes not tier 1 or 2. He relies way too much on his team, and as a result is not a good choice for solo queue. That being said, support yorick has a lot of potential, but i never see it at my elo.

I agree, also Sona needs to be moved way down and Soraka up.
Also, I'm almost certain Urgot is going to be played much more in the competetive scene soon. I think he's been underrated for a long time and could easily be T1/2. |
