Hey, so, nice to meetcha. I'm FancyCamel. :3 I've yet to partake in any ranked shenanigans yet because reasons.
ANYWAYS. Two champions that I constantly come up against and become dumbfounded against are Mordekaiser and Vladimir. I'm looking for advice on how you'd counterpick and play against these two.
With Morde, to my understanding, you need a hard burst to demolish his shield and a number of his health bar. Obviously this won't kill the tin man, so it requires repeating. How does one cope with this? I find that many champions with high burst would consist of AP casters and Morde just seems to hit like a train against them. He shuts me down in lane every time I've faced him.
Vlad is a similar case. I came across him as Gragas in the mid lane the other day(normal blind-picks).. The game went well as it started up til level 4 or so. I harassed him nice and hard while keeping my CS and he was low health. His jungler came for a gank and didn't kill me but I had to back and so did he. Anyways, as the game progressed I found it progressively harder to deal with him once he got his Revolver. One does not simply trade shots with Vlad.. Because he just heals it all back. And then he got his WotA and I was just like.. Seriously? I didn't know what to do. I know ignite is useful.. But I don't have 24/7 ignite, haha.
TL;DR COUNTERPICKS FOR MORDE AND VLAD AND THE STRATEGY YOU USE TO OVERCOME THEM. :D

Ignite vs Vladimir, or a similar heal reduction effect.

Constant harassment and early banks beat Morse.

edit: ganks, not banks lol ******ed auto correct.

double edit: Morde, not Morse >_>

Vlad: Kill him pre-9. His CD's are long on his Q and his sustain is far, far lower. If you can bait him into using his pool, you can get him in a gank.

Morde: Don't stand near the creeps. Make him choose between last hitting/shield charging and harass. Never engage when he has full shield.

's all I know really.

I know Cassiopeia destroys Mordekaiser in lane. She can push just as hard, easily break though his shield, and harass from a safe distance.

I usually don't play against Vladimir too often, but when I do, my main strategy is to deny him early game to weaken his mid-late game, regardless of the champion I'm playing.

Thanks to Xiron, for the awesome sig. Find his shop here.

Against Vladimir top lane a few good picks would be Riven, Lee Sin, Akali. High mobility and high damage beat him. Get Hexdrinker on Riven and Lee Sin and you've basically won the lane. On Akali you do whatever it takes to reach level 6 without falling behind too much and Vlad becomes a pushover.

Against mid lane Vladimir either Ryze or Cassiopeia

Fizz might be able to do well against him in either lane

Yes Fizz does pretty well against Vladimir

You can play a devil match up by going Rumble against Mordekaiser, but lately I found that Irelia or Trundle is the ultimate Mordekaiser counter. For mid champs, Xerath and Morgana probably have the best bet.

Katarina does well in mid lane against Vladimir. As you said, you don't have 24/7 Ignite... Well, on Kat you do have healing reducion every 10-15 seconds for 5 seconds of duration. Long enough to dump all of your damage on him and reduce any heals in the process. + after you get 3-4 points in Bouncing Blades farming becomes a breeze even if you get zoned. After giving it some practice, you literally can pick up to 3/4 of all creep kills no matter how hard you get denied. By far, Kat is really one of the hardest champs to zone. Unless you're 100500 kills and levels ahead of her that happens once in a millenium...
+ Vlad doesn't really have any means to stop Kat's Death Lotus. So, if the pool is down, you get a free kill :3

Just for the same reasons, Fizz may be an adequate counter as well.

AHahaha.
K, how to counter Vlad.

Number 1 option to counter him is Swain and Fizz.
Healing reduction/continous DoTs that goes through your Pool.
Pantheon is a not bad solution, if it's about solo top.
NEVER TAKE Katarina against Vlad, hsi pool counters her ulti and blades, unless you play against a complete noob Vlad.

About Morde, Lugi said that, take someone with higher range or someone with ability to counter-harass him - Brand, Kennen, Vladimir, all worked for me. Stand away from creeps (that's where you need range or Vlad's healing) and harass him before he gets to minions, other way there is no way to get him.
