I think the first one is "better" idea. Second one I think is a big NO go.
Anyways, lot's of people out there (I think) would like to increase the amount of comments, which are required to cast to vote on the actual guide. I'm not necessarily meaning that it would be forever, but maybe add a option, where you can adjust it from 10/20/30 ?
I won't explain the second one since now that I think of it, I would remove it from the thread name, but it's not possible.

i actually really like this idea. it'd kill the suspicion of having just one post and downvoting, which tends to happen a lot.

We already said we wouldn't do this.

Gonna echo some previous posts here.
It creates a higher barrier for voting. We want more votes, not less. For every person who joins just to downvote, there's probably one that joins just to upvote.

Secondly, try explaining yourself in the the OP a bit more. Your thread title is getting cut off and It took a bit to figure out what you meant.
