no I'm pretty sure it isn't, notifications are, but I'm talking about something that is more practical for Matt to code since we already have messages. The thing would pop up just like when you message someone, and you would select the name.

I'm thinking it'll be like facebook where you have a pop up in like a globe and you click it to see the responses. That'll help a lot.

it would cause too many complications, especially since someone can do it on random threads as a form of trolling. A better solution would be to notify you when you've been quoted in a thread, would help close a lot of my tabs :P

Then again, it might be hard for Matt to add this feature. (I have no idea on how forums, html, coding, BBcode, etc work so...)

Considering it, the complications won't be huge. It will take time to do this though, for he'll prioritize this as a medium urgency (probably).

I think my way would be a bit easier and more realistic for him to implement since he already has the system in place for messages.
Also, people can also troll and send messages...and they can troll with your way too... does that mean they will? No. Most of the people who "troll" or "spam" on this site (very few) are new users who make spam accounts, they wouldn't even know about the feature.
