Guide updates aren't sown on your history unless it's a publish.
For the second one though, it might throw the system out of wack a bit. You can get to any guide just by having it's number. Deleting one would change the number and mess some things up, I think.

mm, but sometimes I accidentally press publish out of habit, and that's no bueno.

I could delete an unpublished guide, haven't tried with archived guides. Dunno why you would want to delete it, anyways.

I think they said that they will add option to remove archived guides in the future. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

I would think it would be beneficial to the people who run the site to be able to remove guides and free up space but what do I know xP

I have a couple suggestions regarding guides and what not.
1. An option to hide your history.
Why? Because, sometimes when I'm making a guide, I don't want it shown in my history. Admins will always get to see where I'm posting, I don't necessarily want everyone else to know what I'm doing.
2. An option to delete archived guides.
Why? Because I have a few guides that were just tests and randomness. I'm OCD and I like order, a clean guide list would make me a happy girl.
