Hi there! I'm fairly new to the game, I just hit level 21. Now that I have access to tier 3 runes, I am posting to ask you all your opinion on which runes I should get. My main role is AD Carry, and currently my main champion is Miss Fortune, but I also enjoy playing Ashe, Caitlyn, and Corki sometimes. So what I'm asking about is the "best" general AD carry runes, but also tips on which runes would be champion specific for AD Carries.

Currently I have armor penetration marks and quints with flat armor seals. I also have 4 flat magic resist glyphs and 2 magic resist per level glyphs. I'm not exactly sure which one would be more viable to buy. So my main question is in reference to the glyphs, but if you have any tips for my other runes, I could use them. :D

Why do you use AD over Armor Pen?

ArP marks AD quints is superior damage almost the whole game.

What do you think about the glyphs? Everyone that I've talked to seems to agree about flat armor seals

Since the Weapon Expertise mastery appeared in season 2, the damage difference is negligible.

Scaling MR glyphs are usually the standard.
They go above flat at about level 6 which is when most AP mids start to roam.

Hey DrPepper, I'm a "main" AD player too! What Luther says is the most efficient and "cheapest" rune set you can pick up if you're starting off the game. When you have a lot of IP later on after buying champions, runes for AP champions, etc you can experiment and go riskier rune pages for AD. I've been playing LoL for a long time and have about four different rune sets I alternate in and out on different AD champions to counter another AD so I get the upper edge in lane.

Okay, here is my excel spreadsheet of Kennen (high dps example), and grave (low dps example) comparing their auto attack damage at various levels of armor.

TL;DR, At level 1, at a level of 23 armor, AD marks over ArP Marks is a .5% dps increase for graves, and a .7% dps increase for Kennen.

With a full build against 105 armor (13+aegis+80), including a LW that DEVALUES ARP, Graves gets a 3.12% dps loss by using AD marks, and Kennen gets a 2.88% dps loss by using AD marks.

I personally would MUCH rather have ~3% more dps end game instead of ~.6% dps at level 1.

Right now, with the popularity of Sona, Lulu, Nunu, and Tristana, flat MR are very popular, but the nerf to flat MR makes scaling REALLY strong.
