If a champion snowballs, it means the more kills they get the more likely it is for them to win.

Think of it like a snowball (lol) rolling down a snowy hill. It gets bigger and bigger until it can't be stopped :p

Master Yi is someone who snowballs. If he gets a lot of kills early on, then he can initiate all fights at your turrets, Pentakill your team, and blow up all 11 turrets before you respawn. Not really that exaggerated, but you get the idea.

2 kinds of snowballs.

There are the snowball items that get stronger as you get kills.

There are also the snowballs that, it makes it much easier to get kills once you've gotten one.
Examples are Shadow Dance and Highlander.

In addition to what was already mentioned, LoL as a game revolves around snowball. The more kills, dragons, towers and barons your team gets the easier it becomes to get more. If you get a kill in your lane it becomes easier to get further kills.

The whole game essentially revolves around building an advantage over your opponents and then using it to crush them.

The strength of a champion that "snowballs" well exponentially increases as they gain kills/dragons/towers/barons/etc. Get a lot early on and you will dominate mid game (and depending on the champion late game as well).
